Read the Community Standards/Guidelines under WELCOME GET STARTED under the Forum section. Customers are allowed to provide constructive criticism and feedback about QVC, hosts, vendors, however "unkind comments" (nasty comments) are not allowed and deleted by the Moderators . (and the Moderators determine what's "unkind" or "nasty") The Moderators have confirmed that constructive cristism is Okay!
This is a shopping channel and if a host or vendor does something that turns off viewers and thus impacts sales, so customer comments are welcomed so that QVC can hopefully provide the host/vendor with some coaching. One of the functions of The Forum is to gather customer feedback.
If you feel someone posted something "unkind" use the report link or just ignore the thread if it upsets you are the best recommendaions.
There were numerous surveys and customer comments were compiled in 2014 and they sifted through the results and the Social Team agreed to these terms about the critcisms...

I re-read the "rules" but nothing is really mentioned about "unkind."
Maybe this will be looked at and answered soon.

It specifically is mentioned:
QVC Community Standards for Participation
"• Be respectful and courteous to others, even if you disagree with them.Do not use language or post content that is unkind or in poor taste or engage in personal attacks."

Community Guidelines
"• Personal attacks are not allowed -

It's not helpful and it doesn't make for a friendly place.
This includes calling other members names.
Disagreement is no excuse for poor manners and we will not allow frustration to turn into a personal attack."

Keeping the forums awesome
The QVC forums have been in existence for a decade, and keeping the experience awesome is going to require every member do their part. You don’t all have to be friends, but you do have to be respectful towards each other if you wish to participate in the discussions here. We are using three methods to keep the forums awesome: removing nasty posts, closing commenting to cool off a potentially nasty discussion, and when all else fails permanently banning members who are not able to be respectful.
The negative posts we are most concerned with are the posts that are nasty (i.e. personal attacks). Community members are welcome to share a negative review about a product or brand, unhappiness with programming, and even share displeasure with a host. But nasty comments will be removed and may result in the author being permanently banned. Those who took the survey share our interest in removing the nasty comments directed towards fellow Community members and hosts,

Anyhoo, why don't we let QVC and their mods decide just what to remove and who to ban and not worry about any of this?
The vast majority of posters come here for fun and relaxation, not for being scolded or told what to do by others who themselves are less than perfect.
In other words, lighten up, for goodness' sake.
Ah, @suzyQ3, the voice of reason finally enters. I, too, suspect something unusual going on in this post.
ITA, let the mods do their job. We don't need posters patrolling the boards policing fellow members. The mods do their job.

It's my entertainment. I don't care what people post.

@Jackhound Mom wrote:Maybe the Mods could leave the names of the nasty posters and just remove the post and then we would know who to avoid.
The moderators are adults. I assume most posters should be. I don't think the forums need Mean Girl dunce caps. Just remember, someone could have one placed on you at some point. Would you still think it's a good idea then?

The "Keeping the forums awesome" link is interesting but with all due respect isn't an update.
It's 3 years old from July 2014 results and response to a user survey.
They updated standards and guidelines in summer 2015 when the new forums started up.
Very interesting to read what they were thinking about back then though.

I agree, this topic has been hashed and re-hashed we took the surveys and decisions were made--it's QVC's Forum, let the Mods do their job, we don'tneed mini-mods. If they just want nothing but positive posts then they can create a QVC Host Fan Club Facebook Page or Blog that they can control!

I can't imagine. Glad there are more of us than them! Enjoy your day!
I agree with this statement. That's life. I don't believe in censoring opinions. There are some who may sound rude, but sometimes there is something constructive in their criticism. I would hate to see those comments removed. I rather ignore these few posters being referred to. What I hate most are the ones here who try to engage with them. That's a lot more irritating to read than what the OP said.
This^^^
T-rolls and pot-stirrers count on the fact that some will welcome them with open arms and happily converse with them, adding their own oar to the pot, for days. It's why the threads continue. I've seen many posts over the past 2-3 years where people say I don't care if I'm talking to a t-roller, I enjoy talking to anyone, even if it's a troll I find 'interesting', and I'm going to keep right on happily posting in threads with t-roll warnings and you can'tstopmesothere! Yes, that does annoy me, as it delights the t-roll.

There were numerous threads, surveys sent out back in 2014, and when QVC made modifications to the website back in 2014, they also included an update to the ORIGINAL Forum Guidelines/Standards that were made when the Forums were originally implemented. The update from 2014 is the last one initiated and REMAINS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT TODAY 2017!---the only other addition that was made to the 2014 Guidelines/Standards was in September 2016 when a change was made to prohibit the discussion of religion.

Trying to understand how Mod's work. Thanks to everyone who has patience with an old timer.
Cathy
I've read a lot of threads about moderation and I still don't understand how it works but even tho moderation seems uneven to me sometimes.........the final answer is always it's their site, their job and their decision.
Not really a big deal in the scheme of things imho.
