That's what a lot of us said that from the beginning when they started the new channels.

And now they're reversing all those brilliant decisions. Very poor business planning.

Its funny how viewers can see things that are just common sense, yet QVC's Execs are clueless...

QVC has been succesful in making some people think we are all "family" or "friends" of theirs.

QVC is run by suits who do NOT think of us as anything but customers.  They really don't care which hosts we like or dislike, if we are unhappy with shipping costs or increased prices, or if we have trouble sleeping and don't want to see reruns in the middle of the night.

They are a business.  What they care about are the numbers.

@alicedee

Their financial results have been going down hill for several years now....

They SHOULD be listening to their customers---there have been some good suggestions that they could at least try....Instead they make poor decisions---overhire hosts, then cut back on programming, and have no choice but to lay hosts off....

Lack of Customer Service---when its needed most and these positions are excellent for work at home opportunities........

They keep showing the same merchandise but then wonder why sales are flat in apparel, kitchen items, home, and jewelry continues to decline....The presentations are too long, and too frequent for the TSV in the same show....

It seems that the cuts that should be made are at the Executive level, and then their buyers----why do many of the vendors sell the SAME THING---for example, how many lanterns do people need, how many ceramic Christmas trees, all the clothing lines look the same no matter what the brand!!!

don't panic; there are plenty of other on-line vendors and catalogue sales too. QVC in not the be-all and end-all of on-line shopping.

Many of us want to support QVC.  We are loyal customers who have come to enjoy the banter from the hosts.  While other options to shop are available our "go to" has always been QVC.

It has been coming for a long time. Some of us have been suggesting this was in process... for a good part of the past decade or longer. QVC has been notorious for a 'their way or the highway' approach and that's been working less and less well for them, over time, but they've cosistently refused to tweak their stale model in any meaningful way. Hens are coming home to roost and it isn't pretty. Retail all over is hurting, but some of the things that are most damaging to QVC are things they should have been addressing long ago. Instead... I guess that's open to interpretation. Their financial reports have been in decline for some time and while problems with shipping and order fulfillment might have escalated as a result of the pandemic, those problems existed and were serious well before.

I disagree.  I don't think things were going very well before the pandemic hit.  They had a lot of the same problems they do now.  Perhaps not quite as pronounced, but a lot of problems.  And complaints.

And other businesses have had time since this started to get their acts together.  QVC seems to still be wallowing.

@geezerette  I completely agree.

@stevieb  Im distressed about the layoffs.  QVC needs to institute coupons or a loyalty program to keep customers coming back. I fear that QVC is becoming tone deaf to what customers want.

I agree with you @Reever. QVC has long lacked meaningful customer incentives and has also long refused to hear meaningful customer feedback that might have helped them. And yes, corporate American no longer has much of a heart. Even when they try to appear to care, it's too often a matter of positive spin and tax write offs. My concern is that it's gone too far and that it's now too late to turn things around.

Re: QVC-Why are you doing this to us?

Another issue IMO is the inability to engage younger viewers who become buyers. They shop on line all the time for themselves, their kids, their husbands and their homes. They are not the audience QVC stocks products for. They don't have time to sit for hours and watch the same presentations over and over and certainly aren't interested in old tired fashions like SG. Logo, D&C at high prices and are all geared to much older ladies like their mothers and grandmothers. Most shop individual merchant web sites like many of us. I sound like debbie downer however I'm no longer so sure the Q will survive and if it does I doubt it will be the same tired format.
