Re: QVC-Why are you doing this to us?

[ Edited ]

QVC has been succesful in making some people think we are all "family" or "friends" of theirs.

QVC is run by suits who do NOT think of us as anything but customers.  They really don't care which hosts we like or dislike, if we are unhappy with shipping costs or increased prices, or if we have trouble sleeping and don't want to see reruns in the middle of the night.

They are a business.  What they care about are the numbers.

Handled correctly, an online business should be thriving during a period when people are largely confined to their homes.

I would disagree. Millions of Americans have been laid off which cuts into your discretionary income. Then you have people that would rather save and not spend money during these uncertain times.

QVC, has in my opinion been listing a little bit in recent years, This pandemic and decrease in spending just sunk the ship. This is an effort I assume to right it.

Give them all CS positions and tell them to Pick Up The Phone!

It's an easy, immediate, and large bandaid to tide them over for a while.

They still have a lot of bailing to do to get the ship upright.

Is HSN also doing layoffs? They are part of the same company as QVC.

Re: QVC-Why are you doing this to us?

well, SOME companies are doing just fine. I have been ordering online from two major pet supply sites. their websites are super user-friendly, orders are processed immediately and things have shipped within HOURS and I have rec'd in 1-2 days. in another case, I called the contact phone number, had an immediate rep on the line who assisted me.

I recently purchased a steamer mop; arrived in 4 days. sent an email question to their customer service and had a personalized, friendly, helpful response in under 30 minutes (to be fair, have had the same wonderful service from Q's service team members).

these are major national companies. THEY are managing just fine, so it CAN be done.

I've pretty much stopped watching/ordering from QVC. especially since Barbara Bixby left and now have sufficient Graver tops. the few orders I have placed (recent Lock and Lock tote TSV) have come in usual time frames with no issues. BTW: that tote is fabulous.

if you are unhappy with QVC, speak with your wallet. lots of other options out there.

stay safe, mask up!

I agree; all the suits care about is the bottom line. Welcome to American business.

These decisions lately to cut back on shows, channels and hosts seems so abrupt. The demand for product is there, consumer confidence is still there even during these tough times. Retail sales increased in June. I am an online and home shopping shopper because the stores and mall near me are crappy. Nowadays it seems more easier to do shopping  online or at home. The demand is there. No one said to delay shipping. Shipping was an essential so no reason for the delays. I enjoyed watching Q2. I think you guys hired too many hosts but no need to get rid the one's that were there for over a decade because you guys hired too many. There was no need for 3 shopping channels as two is plenty. Rick is boasting how QVC is in millions of households so sounds like there should be plenty of opportunity to make a sale.

I use QVC as my active/live online shopping experience. This is were people were going to buy instead of inside a store. You guys should be doing well because the demand is there. So why the cut backs?

There would not be cut backs if they didn't have to.

Re: QVC-Why are you doing this to us?

A lot of companies had shipping problems or problems getting merchandise out the door during the pandemic.  I specifically remember a lot of posts about Chewy running out of product.  Also, I had trouble getting my spring gardening supplies and that was from businesses that specialize in that.  Luckily, I haven't had any problems with deliveries from QVC or HSN.

The thing that concerns me though are all the comments I see about non-existent customer service. That will drive me away faster than anything else.  I did have to do a return with HSN recently and was supposed to get an exchange but instead got a refund even though the item was still in stock.  I had no problem getting through to CS there and everything got taken care of with no problems.
