I flip thru these shopping channels a lot and there was one recently that I stayed on because I was interested in the product, and I never once saw the sales person. I didn't care, but it did seem odd. I'm with some of the others here, just show the product. That's all I care about.

I'm only interested in the product so I'd be happy if they just kept the camera on that. I don't care who the host is and unless they are wearing the product that I'm liking, I don't want or need to see them.

I think that the show producers behind the scenes pick the camera shots that end up on air. I do notice with HD that they avoid zooming in on the host and vendors face and neck as HD show every wrinkle. Not only that but they switch those camera filters on and off. Watching online the filters wink on and off all the time and when they are off, it's not pretty!

I'd rather see more camera time on products as well. But I've noticed on some shows the camera work is better than others. Maybe they need a camera workshop lol!

Add to this comment that many cameras are now remotely controlled by the producers (no cameraman/woman physically operating the equipment), and this is a common practice now in various types of live broadcasts. I've noticed that sometimes there seems to be a lag between the camera shot and what the host/vendor is saying. They have moved on in the presentation (for example, showing the colors of D&C pants), and the camera shot is still on one model.

I've also tried to get a good look at a detail or a pattern and the camera is bouncing around and finally flips to another shot. Never did get a good look.

I would also like to see longer, close-up shots of the fabric and other details on clothing items. The hosts seem to have to BEG for close-ups when selling clothing.
