@CalminHeart.  Exactly!  If you don't like the high prices now, just wait.  It's estimated the average household will pay about $2,000 more per year due to tariffs.

Correct!  And,  the tariffs will affect most everything QVC sells since they come from other countries; shoes, clothing, appliances, electronics of all kinds including phones, furniture, home decor....and the list goes on and on.  So, if you think QVC prices are out of line right now, just wait for the new sticker shock!

@ciao_bella   Yep...

Did you read my post just above yours? Smiley Happy

@Susan Louise   I just read your post now.  I must have been typing my response and missed seeing yours.  Yes!  I think many didn't see the "entire forest, for the few trees", so to speak!

@ellaphant

I think you misspoke.   Comcast isn't dropping the channels they own under the NBC umbrella.   They are spinning these off to another company.

The plan to spin off some NBCUniversal channels includes MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Oxygen, E!, Syfy, and the Golf Channel, while NBC, Bravo, and the streaming service Peacock would remain under NBCUniversal, a source close to the plans told Business Insider.

@CalminHeart But then without the tariff even we just had huge price increases because of inflation.  Which is a historical result of economic decisions.

Lower tariffs, fewer jobs and more companies flee, fewer taxes paid, more to support people without jobs, it is a cycle that is hard to break.  Which ever happens, it is always the folks who are working who foot the bills.  So, one way or another you spend it, or your retirement fund goes downhill, whatever!  OH my!

It's really just middle school economics. It's called corporate greed when corporate profits are 3-4-5 times higher than prior record-breaking profits.

Politicians can't fix prices anymore than Santa can. Nothing will change until politicians change the tax rules and tackle corporate greed, especially corporations that outsource to other countries.

I'll be happy to say "i told you so" or "mea culpa" down the road. But I'll put my money on "I told you so."

Everything looks promising on paper. Now let’s see what happens in practice.

Why is anyone marveling about going with social platforms. They have no choice. They are an antiquated model. Where else would they go?

They are floundering. Trying to keep their head above water.

These are rapidly changing times.

Keeping up and embracing change are the means to survival.

I plan to shop QVC in whatever way necessary and most convenient to me.

That’s what we all do with all retailers. We buy when it’s convenient and the price is right.

I'm having a new tv installed. I'm dropping Comcast and using YOUTUBE TV where I can stream exactly what I want at a fraction of the cost.

QVC on cable will be going the way of all streaming down the road.

@ellaphant Where did you get this information? I have Xfinity (Comcast) and I still get MSNBC, CNBC, E! Watched some of these channels this morning.

@DJs mom

Comcast hasn't "dropped" those channels.

@Seminole2 is correct that they are planning on spinning them off into a separate company. (See her post above.) The details of the move aren't clear at this time, but the time line right now looks to take at least one year.

@geezerette thanks for the clarification. I also read @Seminole2 post after I posted. I am baffled sometimes by the things people post on here. I guess they don't fact-check first. When I read the post saying Comcast dropped those channels I was like "huh? I was just watching these channels today"
