Is it just me and my computer?  I have recurring issues when I go to check out.

@Blk&GoldFan   I think Q needs to hire several of their many computer vendors who seem to understand the workings of a computer. QVC & it’s team of geniuses in the I.T. dept. have constant issues.

They've been more glitchy for a few weeks and intermittenly very slow. Especially slow trying to access my profile... I noted one of the moderators indicated a week or so back it was due to all the traffic... I'm not sure about that... Even if it had to do with traffic on the retail side, that shouldn't be a factor today and, in fact, probably not for the past several days, once it was clear items wouldn't arrive in time for gift giving... As for the boards, it seems to me they've been a bit less active during the holiday season...

Me, too.  This has been going on for a while.

Yes, @OKPrincess@NickNack and @proudlyfromNJ!    When we click/tap on certain nicknames (not all) the wait time is incredibly long.   Also, if we choose the general forum list of threads (the word "Forum" above "My Favorite Brands") there's often a long delay.   It happens, too, occasionally when we try to submit or edit a post.

I've even seen the website time-out trying to respond -- that's not good.

I tried reporting it with details and examples nearly 2 weeks ago, but the IT support people used the excuse that the Black Friday shopping traffic on the website was the cause.    Problem with that is that it began over a week prior to the Black Friday offerings and it never has resolved.   I feel strongly that it's a database indexing problem related to the user file and also to thread topic listings, and it's being ignored by the IT department.    I doubt we'll get them to pay attention until the holidays are over, so they no longer can use that as an excuse.

I want to continue this discussion because the problem has not been resolved.

Some posters haven't seen the problem because it doesn't involve their own username and/or they haven't tried clicking on another nickname with the glitch.

I just clicked on my own nickname and it took 1 minute and 30 seconds to pull it up.   The length of time will vary somewhat,  dependant upon how active the Community is...   but with certain users it will continue to be a very long wait.

To see the problem, click on my name to the left of my post or click here:

1 1/2 minutes is not normal response time.  And it's not just my name/profile -- it's many of them.   This software bug also causes us to see an occasional delay when we try to post a comment/thread or if we try to edit a comment and then post the edited version.   The system will seem to freeze for up to about a minute and a half (maybe longer).

This is not related to our device, browser, software versions, or our individual internet connection by the way.    Based on my experience in IT, I believe QVC has a corruption in the user file and in the way links use an "index" to certain users, and it has not been addressed.   It's a basic, elementary "database troubleshooting 101" problem and I cannot understand why it's permitted to continue for so long.   This is not the fault of the QVC Social Team -- it is the IT support staff's responsibility to identify and correct this.

SEARCH FEATURE

It's broken for everything I have tried searching for, but the worst is "Lessman"

It appears that the Q and Lessman have had a dissgreement.  Product labels are not included.

WOW what a mess.

@lovetoteach. Everyday a new issues with the Q website. I had to sign in several times today. This is so annoying. Q needs to hire people who know wtf they are doing or revamp their horrible websites

Hi, @LTT1!   I tried some searches for Lessman and other topics (wasn't sure if you meant on the shopping site or here in the Community so I tried both) and I did get plenty of results.   QVC has always had a lousy search engine, so I don't think that's changed.    The other problems I detailed are still happening, so I think I'll try another report -- maybe now that the holidays are over and IT support staff can't use "heavy website traffic" as an excuse they'll actually take a look.

@Teddixat

ITA!

If a company desires to be “the go-to” online retailer of 2019, wouldn’t the website be a main consideration?

I reported this in a detailed email message to the QVC Social Team for forwarding to their IT web tech support -- I just looked at the email, and it's dated December 4 but this began in November.

The problem still exists, and now it seems to be worse.

If I want to access my profile to see my posts or images, or to add a new image, it takes so long that I end up opening another tab to do other things while waiting.    The delay is so long that I can read several email messages or Community threads in the interim.

If I try to submit a response (or edit one of them), the delay is several minutes -- that's dreadful response time, hearkens back to the old days of dial-up internet access.   The slow response time also, I noticed, is causing posters to hit the "POST" button more than once, resulting in duplicate threads or posts.

QVC's IT support department is ignoring this problem.   I want to stress:

this has nothing to do with “website traffic,” or our device type, software, cookies/cache, or our ISP connection/speed, and it is NOT happening with all user files -- only some of them.

Anyone who wants to see the problem, just click on my nickname or the nicknames of those who are reporting the problem for an example.
