Re: Q DID WHAT???? QVC 3rd Quarter Results-----

I love how we are discussing this. Lisa R was more then a show host..she was a phenomon who had an amazing skill of getting viewers excited and enthralled in buying. I agree the GILI line has gone way down hill and the posh presents show was clearly them mimicking old LR posh present shows which constantly selling out. The new Monday fashion night is a mess. Where she was on the fashion runways or doing a remote in Italy in Vincenza there was something exciting thrilling to watch under LR. These salea numbers dont shock me at all. QVC has gotten so corporate what made it special doesnt exist anymore.

Re: Q DID WHAT???? QVC 3rd Quarter Results-----

So true @Graciesmom @JONNYSBRO, Gili has become a joke... Had they one wit of sense, they'd have retired the name and come up with something else. It was essentially Lisa's line for QVC and when she went, so, for the most part, did the quality and even, to some extent, the style... Moreover, their current Gili mouthpiece has zero appeal... Lisa knew how to build anticipation and move the goods, especially with this line. That skill is now sorely lacking...

@Kachina624 well that doesn't seem like a positive selling point if the items you used to buy from them are no longer there.  I had looked at running shoes and some other items but I had concerns over fit issues.

Glad it worked for you when you were shopping there though.

@Spurt @GinaV24 and the rest...

OH !!!  My stars and garters... I just saw where Amazon is offering a toy that you'll undoubtedly want to get for every kid in the neighborhood... I canNOT for the life of me believe the Q missed this one... Why ladies, it's  a TOY DYSON VACUUM... Now I ask you, how could the Q, of all Dyson retailing entitles... have let THIS slip through their fingers... I'm telling you, someone's asleep at the wheel... But then we knew that... Leave it to Amazon to save the day...

@stevieb

Oh my---LOL---Amazon is miles ahead of QVC---just think get the youngsters started on the "joy of vacuuming"  so when they are older they can feel the urge to purchase the $400 and on up real machines.....

Here's another idea---We were in Tuesday Morning and happened to pass by an end cap with some toys....one of them was a waitress uniform, complete with uniform, apron and cap, and restaurant receipts for taking orders....REALLY??? Nothing wrong with being a waitress, but I thought it was rather odd outfit for play---or have they replaced the doctor/nurse outfits of the older generations......This is not a Halloween costume, it's a "role play" costume......

Melissa & Doug Waitress Role Play, 3-6 Years

  • Complete dress-up-and-play set includes everything a child needs to look the part, plus exciting accessories to spur imaginative play.
  • Includes pink dress, cap, ready-to-personalize name tag, color-coordinated apron with oversize pockets, dry-erase order ticket and sturdy tray.
  • High-quality fabrics and construction ensure durability.
  • Machine-washable costume and wipe-clean accessories
  • One size fits ages 3--6.

And hey QVC can offer their own Shopping Host play set---complete with horrible outfits to wear while hosting and boring products to demonstrate and sell.....and then they can use their toy computer to Facebook with their BFF customers.....Woman Very Happy---QVC needs to get on this right away.....
