When our children were small, we would get the overpriced pumpkins at the pumpkin farm.  I would also go with their school classes to the pumpkin patch.  Now I buy them at the grocery store, they are bigger and cheaper!  I didn't and don't wear special clothes for that!!

Guess that works if all you're interested in is getting a pumpkin.  Last place I wanted to take my kids and grandkids is a grocery store.  Still, while you may not wear special clothes for it, you still have to wear clothes (unless you live in a nudist colony of course).

Hmmm... looks like she said that when her kids were school age she did the pumpkin patch thing... And yes, for either the pumpkin patch or the grocery store, clothes are pretty much a given...

I go to a pumpkin patch almost every year because I can get several pumpkins for the price on one at the grocery store.  One patch I used to go to even had an allyou can carry price.  Plus they have multiple varieties.  One with the nickname, pink pumpkin, is the best for making the creamiest pumpkin pies.  It doesn't take much time or effort to make my own pumpkin puree and it can be frozen and it much better than the canned stuff.

totally agree, PhilaLady1...it's a nice way to spend a beautiful Fall day with the family, instead of the kiddos being in front of the TV, phones or computer games.  And how refreshing it would be to see people in a nice casual outfit, instead of ripped jeans and pajama pants.

That pumpkin-picking suggestion always cracks me up. If I ever was to go tramping in a possibly wet and muddy field to pick a pumpkin and carry that usually dirty pumpkin back to the cashier, I am going to wear my junkiest clothing, not some coordinated outfit.
