@Carebears I agree with everything you said 100%!!! I have had similar experiences and am growing evermore unhappy with them. I have a couple of items on autoship that I plan on canceling and will shop mostly on Amazon and LL Bean from now on. One of my autoships was supposed to be free shipping for each shipment and I was charged last time. I emailed them to let them know and they stated it was for the first shipment only. That is not what was offered at the time. I'm so done, and they are not worth arguing with because they don't seem to care or have the old fashioned "customer is always right" attitude which I believe hurts them tremendously.

@KathyM23 wrote:Regarding the comment about Susan Graver being overpriced. I certainly do not find that to be so. She adds many details to her items that add to the cost of manufacturing and add to the attractiveness, fit, comfort, washability and long wearing properties of the garment as well. I also find the materials she uses in her products to be superior to what I find in the department stores unless you are looking at expensive high-end lines.
I also lthink Denim and Company are in line with pricing on their lilne as well - again quallity of material, ease of washing, long wearing, etc.
,
What I am finding in B&M stores iis inferior material - flimsy, weird feeling, uncomfortable and will not look well after repeated washings.
QVC pricing on the lines I buy are OK with me. I am satisfied with the quallity of the material, etc. and would not want to see QVC skimp on the quallity for cheaper price. Cheap prices equal cheap products.
I also do not find $3 shipping to be out of lilne. Some sites have free shipping, but you are paying for it somehow. Free is not free in retail. Many of the places I buy from catalogs/on-line are very much higher both in shipping and return shipping. Sure I would like free shipping but not enough that I find it something to complain about in comparison with other places I shop. I have found that I am purchasing more and moe of my clothes from QVC and less and less from other places I have shopped for years.
D&C USED TO have good fabric, wear well, and their sizing was consistent...They have changed and not for the better..I re-ordered a top in a different color and the fabric was totally different--a cheapened version, and the sizing is now inconsistent (my weight and my size remains the same at local Department Stores), and some times tops stretch out after washing so Ive given up on Q clothes got tired of paying for returns......
Everyone is going to have their own opinions. To me, Denim & Co. used to have much better quality items than they do now. The materials are thinner and there is much too much polyester in their blends. Also, the styles look frumpy to me, as well as sizing inconsistencies. Yes, we all know we can shop at other retail markets. However, when we are watching the Q - this is my observation.

@hayseed00 wrote:I agree about the shipping. I purchased four realtree winter caps that have a led light in the front, each one is nearly weightless, they all came the other day in four seperate large boxes, I would think it would of been more practical to combine items if they are all going to the same address, not to mention a serious waste of packaging. Thank goodness our recycle pickup.
the shipping works the same way it did from when the company started, they have not really bought into the the 2000s let alone 2010s

@QVCkitty1 wrote:I think the reason QVC survives is easy pay , pure and simple. Otherwise why would they push it like they do.
@QVCkitty1: That's one of the factors. I believe that their credit card (which they keep pushing on the website), and profits from shipping and return fees, are two other big reasons.

A primary reason I am driven to shop at Kohls, Big Lots and Marshalls is the pricing at QVC. I'm willing to pay slightly extra for the convenience of at home hopping but they are frequently charging 20-30 percent more than other retailers. Can't continue to shop at QVC when so many other retailers have better prices.

I agree that things are much more expensive on the Q, particularly when factoring in shipping and, if necessary, return shipping costs; the hosts may not factor it in when talking about the price of an item, but I certainly do. Susan Graver's items are much higher and the prices on LOGO items are ridiculous, just to name a few. I have canceled all my auto deliveries and this year only bought one item during the year and then had a Valerie's wreath on auto-delivery that I give to my vet clinic. I have had it on auto delivery for years and it is now almost $50. While it was nice, the Costco wreath I bought for my own door was $15 and was the width of my door and half the length and was very nice frasier fir and cedar. It was decorated except for a bow, but one can buy a bow at Michael's. So, I canceled future auto shipments and will just get one from Costco in the future and put my own bow on it at a significant savings.
I never buy clothes any more because of the horrible inconsistency in sizing. Jewelry, the rare times they show it, is much more expensive, and the food items are WAY overpriced. And books can be purchased cheaper elsewhere with free shipping.
Between percents off, coupons, free shipping offers, and sales offered by other companies, it just does not make much sense to shop at the Q any more. The V for value just isn't there like it used to be. And it gets tiring of the same old stuff. For example, you can pretty much bet the farm that Nutrisystem will be a TSV the beginning of the new year. The only thing I really look forward to, and they have cut back on that, is St. Patrick's Day and items from Ireland.

Lately, I start off looking at Clearance, Last Clicks, and As Is for my QVC purchases. I agree that some of their prices are too high. For example, QVC hosts may tout a special price for a pair of shoes, but I can invariably find them for a lot less online. I stopped watching Shoes on Sale when I realized I can buy the shoes at better prices elsewhere and I can donate money directly to the breast cancer charity of my choice. I realize that the overhead at QVC must be huge but, as a retiree, I need to be more circumspect about my purchases.

I think KathyM23 was paid for her review. I also think prices are getting to high. Especially
Susan Graver.

I ALWAYS check online if something catches my eye while watching the Q---most times I find it for no shipping and it gets here alot sooner too. And sometimes I find better deals too--like the skechers loafers TSV from a few days ago---got the same ones in the colors I wanted, for $60 and that was for 2 pairs!! also free shipping and returns----screaming deal!! That is my NY resolution--research for a better deal

I've seen earrings ship for $5 and a skirt for $3. Now we all know earrings has virtually no weight. I just love it when they cram an article of clothing in a grey plastic bag that is way too small. When I get it the heat from hell will not get the wrinkles out. I've noticed that Bob Mackies stuff is going up in price. I like to buy when they have free shipping. A $19.99 product once s/h and tax is added can raise the total cost to $30 +. You have to be careful shoppers. Especially when you buy more than one item. You can save enough on shipping to but another item.
