I also thought it was an April Fools joke, but nothing was said by the end of the show. If nothing is said tomorrow morning, then we know it is true. Also, the gardening set he said that he would be selling was $400+ with 29 pieces, it didn't seem right to me. He is a big QVC fan, often talking about it on air.

I don't think it's an April Fool's joke. He was discussing ths on Good Day Philadelphia over a week ago about doing an audition for them
Maybe he just wants a change.

They were aggressively searching for new on-air talent having camera ready, entertainment experience not long ago with job postings.
Could be true.

@smb3 Not the "end of the show." He also drops by the daily show in street clothtes (not as a host) called "Good Day After Show Encore Show" which comes on 2:00 pm.

So (for those who watch Good Day Phila.), last year on April Fools Day, they said Bob Kelly was leaving. You know how he's always going to schools and doing broadcasting with the kids from the gym or their classrooms, etc.?
They announed, on air, that because he enjoys that so much, he was leaving his job at Good Day to go work for the school district of Phila. I forget what job they said he was actually going to have.
They went on and on about how he'd be missed. At the end of the show, they never said it was a prank. But, lo and behold, he never left.
As far as I'm concerned, the Bob Kelly prank was stupid - not funny. Just like this one.
And, of all things, why gardening? Mike lives in a high rise building with no garden. He doesn't strike me as the gardening type. Just silly all the way around.

I don't watch his show, but I know who he is and I have seen him on other shows in the past. It seems like he has a great sense of humor, and I think he would be perfect for QVC.
The only question I have is - QVC seems to be jettisoning some of their "older" hosts. He is older than both Carolyn and Dan, who were let go. I'm sure they would have to give him a good contract; he comes with a following. So they wouldn't save money there. He doesn't need the exposure, so he would basically be doing it for fun. Do you think they would really do this?
