That begs the question why other hosts don't have to do it.

Because the other hosts are not as professional and polished as Pat. Most are to busy singing, dancing, wiping their nose or scratching their head.

In this case, it's deserved. Pat works for QVC and dies what they tell her.

It is part of the job.  Just like ordering fast food.  The customer service rep. asks if you want a drink, fries, dessert, etc.  They are told to try to sell more items to the customer.

@Bella2022

When I worked in retail, it was required of sales associates to open credit cards. It was on their review & they were dinged if they didn't open any.

If a mystery shopper was buying something from a SA with a Visa & SA didn't ask them to open a store card, it went in report & was a ding against them.

We had store meetings before opening in the am & one SA opened 6 or 7 credit cards in a few weeks & GM was ecstatic & jumping up & down about this.

Pushing store credit cards is required in retail.

What's interesting is the OP set up a thread that, had people agreed with her, would have led to a pile on of Pat--a common occurrence for many of the hosts.

But, apparently, that's a-okay.

My daughter worked in retail and in a bank for several years. Both employers required the employees to ask customers/clients if they wanted the business' credit card. There was a fee earned by her for each application made.

The employers definitely talked this up to the employees and occasionally there were contests behind the scenes. The employee with the most applications during a certain time period got an extra bonus.

The number of Credit card applications made were part of the companies performance review too. it's just a normal part of the retail world.

If you listened to Susan Graver for 30+ years saying the Same Ole Things Over and Over Again, you’d have a puzzled look on your face too. 😂

@walkingal

Your post made me 😂 as much as the OP’s!

Hmmm …Maybe the other hosts prefer to keep the Q Card with their note cards, so they don’t forget what pocket they put it in. 😂

I'm crazy in love with Pat. So beautiful and down to earth.
