Shame on us -
I didn't think I was complaining, I said it was a "rant" - just wondering if anyone else had noticed.
Similar to the post about hosts interrupting vendors, or talking too much about their animals.....
Sigh......
@Waterwoman, sorry if the comments made you feel bad. I think it is because there have been a few thread on this before. We have been talking about the high-pressure selling from the hosts now ("put it in your cart and CHECK OUT!"). With only a few exceptions, all hosts seem to be "amped up" and doing their best to do what they are supposed to do--sell. I chimed in on another thread that I miss the days of one host calmly explaining the product well--no co-host, no vendors! Those days are gone.
We also discussed that they have so many items with "expiring prices": "one show only" products, or one day only, etc. We constantly hear "the price goes away at the end of the show". As someone astutely commented--these are sales tactics. Sometiimes we can be tempted by these tactics, but for the most part we see them for what they are.
So, you are not alone!
Many of us have noticed it, too, and have discussed it. For myself, if the hosts are particularly frenetic, I do exactly what others have said to do--I change the channel. If the product is something I am interested in, I will go to the website or the app for more info.

Another sales tactic I don't like is when a host says my producer just told me that the color yellow is the next to go, so if you want it in yellow hurry up and call customer service to order it. Talk about high pressure sales tactics.
@lgfan I agree! I also don't like "there are 400 left in black, 800 left in brown, 1,000 left in taupe", etc... I don't care! If I want it I will order it! Sometimes they do this ad nauseam rather than spending the time thoroughly explaining the product. However, I know it is not the host's fault--it is the producer in their ear.

@Waterwoman wrote:Lately, everything offered is a one day only, or only good for this hour, or buy multiples at a riduclously high price
Why offer something that is going to run out in one hour. So tiresome.
Also, why are all the hosts "Obsessed"
Why do the hosts seem "Amped" up -sometimes just turn the channel -
Nothing wrong with your comment. Some of us surely agree. The one I dislike most is, "When the show is over, the deal is over." Maybe a person was at work or otherwise & wanted to watch later & would have purchased. Lost sale there for sure.
Some folks want to jump on comments - so I guess in order to stir things up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I'm sure many of us record shows because we're working, busy, or even sleeping! It's kind of a bummer when I forward through a recorded show, have interest in an item, and want to purchase it, only to find that it was on sale during that particular timeframe.
However, I have noticed that many of the items on sale for a short period of time only increase by a few dollars after the show is over. Not a deal breaker for me.
@Grade1Teach I have been noticing the greater frequency of these one hour only item. I don't watch qvc anymore, just go online and take a look at the specials at some point during the day. (I can't stand to watch.) I have noticed many items I would have purchased are only available at a particular sale price for one hour only, an hour that has already passed. And while QVC sales used to be 10% only for a fashion TSV (the "regular" price is higher, but they ususally go to a lower sale price after the TSV is over, not the "regular qvc price", which is not a meaningful term), these OTO discounts are bigger, I have seen $10+ for fashion/accessories, which is what I usually buy.
I have been refusing to buy at the higher prices, hoping they go down, becase if they are going to have one hour only prices, I feel they should let us know in advance, so we are watching. I have no intention to watch all the time to catch these sales prices, so I guess I will skip on the purchases. When an item goes up only a couple of dollars, it doesn't bother me. But the price differences lately have been substantial. 😡😡😡

@MG Chris I agree w/you about the complaints. I think they are a symptom of people's unhappiness w/$$ and slooooow shipping.

Fire or give new directions to the Producers if that's the case. Drives me nuts too! (and I love to rant with the best of them) ![]()
