I was just looking at a pair of clearance boots for $52.12 on this free shipping day. The video has the host saying they were (then) on a "clearance sale" price of $46.91.  They do like to play games with the prices.

Free shipping is marketing ploy. The price is always manipulated to cover S&H

@ellaphant    How do you explain the fact that I just bought a piece of jewelry that has been the same price for months but I saved $5.50 on shipping today?  Also got a 10% rebate on Mr. Rebates.

I had an item drop $20 on its price on free shipping day yesterday.

I purchased a blouse yesterday that I have been considering for a few weeks. The blouse was the same price as it has always been, nothing changed.

To me it seems they drop the price to rid of some inventory then put it back up. Another thing I see is clearance sale price which is less than plain clearance price. I bought a Denim & Co. shirt today for $21 not planning to but new inventory is ridiculous. A new piece in my closet makes me happy.

No it isn't.

I haven't seen an increase in the price in items I'm interested in. One item was $30 less than Amazon yesterday and the other item I purchased this weekend was a better deal here than elsewhere. Plus no shipping fee. Smiley Happy

unfortunately, most places change their prices on items frequently.

Sure it is. Some prices are set to be dropped . Others are marked up.

Talk to people in retail how " sales" are structured.
