Re: No QVC Ruined Christmas posts, OK?

@stevieb

I am in the same boat. I ordered the Waterpik Sonic Toothbrush TSV back on the 12th, and as of today it's still in the preparing my order Que. Somewhat amusing, since it was a TSV, I would think that they would have tons of them available to ship, especially since I ordered so early in the day.  I have a sonic that I am currently using so I will just bide my time. If it is still showing in the preparing my orde Que next week I will contact QVC.

Re: No QVC Ruined Christmas posts, OK?

The only thing that "ruined" my gift giving was Philosophy.  I bought into that 12 piece TSV deal.  Two of the four body washes were not sealed.  NO WAY was I going to give those as gifts.  I sent the whole thing back as defective and expect a full refund.  I am not likely to replace that "gift opening" with anything else, so those gift recipients are going to get less this year.

I also ordered an Or Paz necklace with an initial, but I knew that would not get here in time, so I can not be mad about that.

@icezeus  It seems to make little rhyme or reason... I ordered two of the Basso TSV throws... One of them processed and shipped quicky. Actually, it was the one I ordered late in the day. The one I ordered earlier took much longer to 'prepare'... That said, they both arrived on or before their EDD... Maybe there is a method to the madness, but it mystified me and it does still...

The noon news said only 10% were finished with their shopping! I was surprised? Most posters here are ahead of the ones still shopping.  Q makes  guarantee arrival  promises they can't deliver in more ways than one.  I feel that is wrong, as so many factors out of control to advertise this.

@Gorgf

I am shocked at the statistic. I have for many years started my Christmas shopping in October, and I am always finished at the latest by the first week of December.

This year, I actually wrapped up in November.

@depglass. Just ignore any threads you don't want to read.

I agree...i will NEVER understand why someone reads the threads they KNOW they will only complain about......

As far as the complaints about packages not receiving on time....................i can understand buyers being frustrated especially if it is a gift for someone you may not see again soon..............or as happening to me right now...Fed Ex says they delivered it....and i never received it...so in the midst of trying to find out WHERE my package is!

But most of all i can't blame the buyers as much as the

RETAILERS who (although we know it doesn't always work that way)   PROMISE that YOUR order  WILL be delivered by Christmas Day.............While the Q is showing a product they WILL NOT EVEN HINT at a customer not receiving a package by Christmas because it might cost them a sale...........so they figure the customer may or may not receive the package before the holiday and by then they have already received it and been billed for it........................

@icezeus   IMO They are sitting way to long in preparing your order.  I have several in that same situation.  Things can't move when they haven't shipped.  I am afraid they will turn many customers away next year. People won't remember that we have a virus but they will remember that their items were promised by Christmas.

I ordered the same set and none of my shower gels were sealed. Also, the large set ( 16?) of 6 oz shower gels came the same way...none sealed. I think this must be a new cost cutting thing. Fortunately none leaked.The large 32 oz bottles all came sealed.

Re: No QVC Ruined Christmas posts, OK?

I'm always one of the first to defend the USPS, which is constantly overworked and understaffed yet still manages to truly get the job done no matter the weather or other conditions in the world. And my brother has worked for them for almost 25 years, so we are big supporters of the USPS around here.

That said, Priority Mail has DEFINITELY been affected by slowdowns, and the USPS has even issued statements to remind everyone that only Express Mail deliveries have any actual timeline guarantee. My most recent two Priority Mail packages have had estimated delivery dates of three days but have instead taken 11 days and 15 days to be delivered—and they were sent at the beginning of the month, not in this more expected delivery crunch time.

Hopefully, everyone can just be patient and realize that shipping demand has totally skyrocketed this year, and all the couriers are doing the best they can with the resources they have. They don't want to "ruin your Christmas" and they understand that everyone just wants their packages to be able to get to their loved ones on time. The crazy hours being put in on the front and back end to make that happen would boggle most people's minds...

If you are a regular poster on this board you know shipping has many delays, especially through the UPS - Post Office combination.  Hopefully you have your shopping done and you are not relying on last minute gifts to show up on time.  For the jewelry show tomorrow, I'm hoping they are using Priority Mail, which the PO claims has not been affected by slowdowns.

@depglass . The PO is having shipping issues with Priority mail right now and has been for several weeks.  some packages still arrive on time while others are very delayed.

I have an Etsy shop and finished mailing all of my packages USPS Priority mail as of Monday 12/14.  I still have many packages out in transit somewhere....some which were shipped the week before.
