I love QVC... but I hope the host using the word "agnostic" to refer to products does not become her new catch phrase.

Wasn't watching so I was surprised to see your post and wonder why this word was used during a presentation... can't fathom how it would be appropriate while selling a product on QVC.

@customer67   Are you sure you heard correctly?  Agnostic is NOT a product and/or a description of one.

@customer67  - Well, I'd love to know which product was being presented when that word was used.  I can't see anything in the past few hours that would fit!

And it could only be a newer host.  Can't imagine any of the longtime hosts misusing that word.  Smiley Very Happy

Re: New Catch Phrase?

So, I thought I heard it incorrectly and brushed it off... but,,, then I heard the same host use the term later when presenting a Lug product.  It made no sense at all.

I watched the video, never heard age agnostic & sex agnostic used before. I looked it up the meaning on Google but I'm still lost....?

Over the past year I've heard agnostic increasingly used to mean "non-specified" or "not limited to one category." It's just the English language changing as it always does.

Host Rachel said the bag was age-agnostic and sex-agnostic. It's not wrong -- just trendy.

This bothers me less than "unpacking," referring to explaining a complex situation or problem. I've been hearing "unpacking" for about two years.

There is nothing at all inherently wrong with the word "agnostic." If the original poster wants to voice a negative opinion about that word, she should surely explain what it is about that word that bothers her. I frequently use that word.
