I seldom see Mary Beth due to the time she is on.
One day I did see her, and thought "wow, she looks so much younger with that short hair." Then she turned to the side and it was just pinned up in the back!
I have yet to see ANY woman who doesn't look younger when they cut their hair.

And I think just the opposite. I see an older lady who goes short and think "there it is - the I'm-giving-up-and-going-with-the-easy-boy-look." I have very thick, full, healthy, curly hair that is almost bra length. I have no plans to go short.
You are blessed @santorini. Aging usually changes the texture of hair and there is nothing more aging than stringy long hair.
I like Mary Beth's hair shoulder length. She has a pretty face so cutting it short would be fine too.

@FuzzyFace, because they can?

I was watching Mary Beth with Dr. Denise skin care video and I have never seen her skin look more beautiful. Her skin looked dewy but not shiny which is the look I go for. I agree, when the neck goes south, there is not much you can do. It is my give-away but at least it waited till I was about 65 before it was noticeable. I think I heard her say once that the neck thing was hereditary in her family. I think she looks better than a lot of women her age in longer hair. Until recently (I'm 68) I could wear mine to my shoulders. Now it is a little above my shoulders where it will probably stay...or I should say where my wigs will stay. I am losing my hair on top and crown. Bummer.

The day I saw Mary Beth with the white dress and denim jacket and her hair longer, I thought that she looked great and looked younger. I think she looks good with her hair short or long, no matter what she does. I do not believe that you have to cut your hair because you are older. In fact, I think that I see more older women with longer hair now. To me, it is easier because I can pull it back in a pony tail around the house so it works for me.

I totally disagree about Mary Beth's hair. I have watched her for 30 yrs and her long hair as she ages, makes her look older and pulls her face down. I wish she would cut it back in a bob and give her a lift..She is my favorite host and I hate to see her listening to those who try to change her. I am waiting to see her get a nice haircut and look 10 yrs younger..JMO

I do think MBR would look nice with a shorter hairdo. I think CG's shorter cut is too flat for her face. I think it needs some volume.

Just saw Mary Beth and she looked an absolute mess about the head. The long, stringy, flat to the head, just rolled out of bed look doesn't suit her.

I just saw CG on air and her hair looks very nice today.

Older women with long hair reminds me of that old " granny" look when many years ago older women would wear there hair long and pin it up. Do not care for it. A lot of times todays older women wearing their hair long I think is a sign they are trying to hard to act young. I can even remeber Susan Graver a few years back with hair extensions. It did not look good t o me. Just my opinion.

Mary Beth looks great with her longer hair. Does not look stringy at all. I think it actually makes her face less round. Some older people just like all women over 50 to have short hair like them.
