With 29 hosts on the corporate payroll I'm sure there were more than a few roaming about the halls at 9 am on a Monday.

Leah could have been requested to stay on even.  Oh, maybe she couldn't.

If you watch hsn at all there is always a host calling in sick. lol there is always someone that comes in to sub for them.

I have never seen so many call in sick over there.

A lot of times people sound worse than they really are but we live in different times now.

Just stay home!

This is an example that the Q should not have two or three hosts working together. They need to rethink the scheduleing especially during cold/flu season and always have a plan/backup ready for unexpected illnesses that will happen.

For year 22-23 the United States had 21,000 confirmed seasonal flu deaths.
We had 369,000 hospitalizations.

STAY HOME.

@Imaoldhippie  I'm not trying to be rude, but this statement is untrue for a number of reasons:

We don't know what illness she has.

If her illness is viral; antibiotics have no effect on viruses. This would include flu, colds, RSV, COVID

If her illness is bacterial, many antibiotics take time to reach effectiveness and people can remain contagious for a very long time. Addionally, some antibiotics might not work at all for a particular bacterial infection.

What?  Viruses do not respond to antibiotics.

@sunsetbeach  that is totally true !  That's why drs dont or shouldn't give antibIotics for a common cold for instance they are not meant for viruses that aren't bacterial.  plus 24 hrs wouldn't be enough time to not be contagious.

@Kitty Galore Viruses are never bacterial. Antibiotics are meant for bacterial infections.

@Mindy D ..........Having worked for many years as a PA the statement is true if she had a bacterial infection & was given an antibiotic, at least it was back in the dark ages when I worked in Medicine.

This is all moot anyway since were dont know what she has if anything and I should have known better than to be pulled into a speculative thread.

I dont think you were being rude at all.

She should stay home. There is no reason to come to work sounding like that!

I saw her today, 1/10, on a Nutrisystem TSV video and she looked fine.

@Imaoldhippie @This would depend on the disease and on the antibiotic. For example, when on antibiotics commonly prescribed for  active, non resistant TB, it's three weeks according to the Mayo Clinic. If whooping cough is treated with an appropriate antibiotic it's infectious for five days according to The New York State Department of Health.
