Re: LISA MASON DISCLOSES CANCER INFORMATION

I don't think there is anyone in the world who would be able to handle such a diagnosis without emotion. A person needs to turn to someone. These are two wonderful people who have turned to their faith, their families and friends, and lastly to their (her) fans who have been so supportive over the years. Please don't judge how this has been done. Just accept it, wish them well, and "be there" however they want you to be there. Thank you.

She is so devoted to him that she wouldn't think of being away from him especially during his treatment. Im sure she is putting all else aside. It must be devastating for them. They don't have kids, just each other.

I wonder why her husband's cancer precludes Lisa from returning to QVC. I always liked her. Am wishing all the best for both.

Are you serious? You can't be. You just can't.

I don't really think this is a totally insensitive question quite frankly. I have a husband with stage IV cancer that has spread. We have been dealing with this together for 1.5 years. I am his primary caretaker, spend numerous hours dealing with insurance companies, disability companies, doctors, doctor's appointments, radiation, infusion therapies, pharmacies, my own issues, take care of a house, and assorted animals, and a career that keeps me busy 40+ hours a week. There's a whole lot of caregivers out there that cannot NOT work for financial reasons. I am happy Lisa will not need to work but this is not really that rude of a question that people should be chastised for asking IMO. Most people have to work and you do what you need to do; I would venture a guess most caretakers do work.

blondegirl--first off--bless you for all you do for your hubby!! He is very lucky to have you as his advocate. I went thru surgery, chemo and radiation in 2012 for breast cancer and didn't have much support from my family. I did most of it myself. And I agree that this statement doesn't deserve the flack its getting. Some people have no idea whats involved and I hope they never have to!!

I knew she would have to as her aunt posted (I'm sure innocently) that they were starting a prayer chain for Gino, and they were all praying for him...so her AUNT accidentally spilled the beans.

When I saw that I knew Lisa wouldn't be able to keep the privacy. I know she would have preferred her aunt not have done that but I'm sure her aunt didn't mean any harm.

I think we all should still let it be.

How do you know that it was her aunt who let the cat out of the bag?

{#emotions_dlg.w00t}That is why I hate Facebook and other social media online.

I agree with you. There is no reason whatsoever that Lisa or any other host from any shopping channel should have to post to the world about their personal things. I just hate that they feel they have to do that sometimes because people are so mean and toss around rumors, etc. That just isn't right. It's none of our business what happens in their life away from their jobs!

Geeze; you're letting something that doesn't concern you at all really get under your skin. Is this hitting a nerve or something? In any case, no one is forcing the information on you so just mind your own business by NOT reading FB or listening to gossip and that should get your blood pressure back down to normal.

Does anyone know what kind of cancer Gino has? About how old is he? (since that might have a bearing on it)

I simply can not believe the insensitivity of many of you who have posted here. Asking why would Lisa not return to work anywhere is unbelievable.

Having had cancer myself, knowing what my SO went through with me, as did my family,I can't fathom that question even coming up. Really, ignorant on the part of anyone who would even think it.

Remee, I think YOUR reaction to the question is pretty insensitive; how unkind of you to beat up on someone who truly doesn't know. My b.i.l. had cancer so I know what my sister went through. But if you haven't been through it, you can't know. I think you are pretty darned rude and insensitive to respond to her question like that.

I would think going through an ordeal like a cancer diagnosis might make a person a little kinder and more understanding. But obviously not, in some cases.

To FORTUNE: thank you for offering to help. My cancer is Lymphoma in my spleen. I'm seeing the Oncologist tomorrow for the results of my bone marrow test and to find out when my chemo will start. I'm still kind of in shock that I was diagnosed with cancer b/c I don't have any symptoms. I'm glad that you are a breast cancer survivor. Did you have chemo too?

Sunshine, I just had 6 weeks of radiation. My internist had lymphoma and he was treated and recovered. He practiced several more years and then retired. I think they have really come a long way in the treatment of lymphoma. By now, you've found out when your chemo will start. Many hugs and prayers from me to you!!!!! {#emotions_dlg.wub}
