Re: LISA MASON DISCLOSES CANCER INFORMATION

ITA, it's totally ridiculous what some people put on FB. I don't care what they ate for any meal. I do enjoy seeing pictures of people that I know and interacting with them. Our churches also post prayer request and other info pertaining to our community, and lots of stores post sales, etc. It's like everything else, people misuse, take security risks & act obnoxious. But, it's a good discussion of FB and didn't turn nasty. Smile

huh?? Are you kidding??

Why would that question impress you as kidding? There are an awful lot of people who face illness in the family who continue working, whether they want to or not. In fact, I'd guess most folks do...

{#emotions_dlg.w00t}That is why I hate Facebook and other social media online.

It's not FB it is people over the age of 30 who seemed to not understand you don't blab personal info in public to strangers.

Does not matter the age nothing good comes from online social media. JMHO

FB has some good too. It's like everything else, good and bad people are on there. If people would just use common sense a lot of the bad could be avoided. People worry about privacy on FB, but if you know someone's name you can use the "people searches" and learn all about them. I know, I searched for me and it was all there online. Matty6, have a great day.

Your right! Nothing is private. But, I still stand by my convictions about FB. Have a great evening!

You can set your facebook page to not even searchable. The only people who can find and friend you are people you select yourself. Now, if someone has a lot of technical ability they can mine for information through back doors, but the majority of people cannot do that.

I know internet searches for me pull up mostly old work related information and info related to my Dad.

It's a decision that if you are blessed to be able to do it, you just do it. The type of cancer and battle they are facing could require much more assistance even in everyday activities. I know I was blessed that my co-workers all donated leave that allowed me to stay with and care for my hubby and keep a paycheck coming in. It was a gift beyond words.

I hope you paid that forward in some way.

I don't usually reply negatively....however, to say that "It's not FB it's people over the age of 30 who don't understand about privacy".

EXCUSE ME! That is a stupid statement. I can read (by pictures or words) just about everything there is to know about anyone I know under the age of 35 years old!

This person must have mixed up the age! Please do not make blanket statements like that! How many people who are in their 50's and so on constantly send out pictures of themselves? Not many, I'd ttguess.

I seldom go on facebook. I like talking to people (you know, the old fashioned way).

However, if I want to know anything about others (under the age of 35 all I have to do is to look on their Facebook page.

So, please don't blame any of this Facebook stuff on people over the age of 35! That just doesn't make sense.

Thank you for your post. I feel that "social" media has done nothing good! People don't talk to each other, if your older and don't text, don't have FaceBook or Instagram you are not included! To much information is given out and sometimes you haven't heard about it and someone will call you before a family member has got in touch with you. It's sad how "ugly" our world has come due to "social" media. Everything is so confrontational now-a-days....... Very sad! I am glad that I am on the other side of the mountain....sliding down!!!!

What a sad comment. Just because people like to use social media. My 79 year old dad has a ball on Facebook. You are not included because you don't want to be up with the times. Clueless really.

Eventually people will return to work for one reason or another, regardless of the outcome. I hope Gino will win his battle and they can both return to work.
