I'm sure you're gathering feedback to answer our queries.

 

When I respond to a post in a thread, my response falls to the bottom of the thread rather than the top despite being the "newest"

 

Is there a setting to change this?

At the top of the topic page there's a drop down menu for "TOPIC OPTIONS".  You can sort the responses various ways using that.  I believe you can also change settings and preferences but I found the drop down easiest to use.
