No, I don't work for QVC either!!

How were they trying to push items down our throats? They aren't exactly in control of what you decided to watch. If others choose to buy something on Christmas day, that is their business. For many reasons, not everyone spends Christmas day with family and friends and whether they buy something on that day has nothing to do with respect for the holiday.

Re: Just Gotta Say - LOVIN' THE QVC CHRISTMAS PROGRAMMING

Have to agree with most posters--boring. Not interested in parades and the same 4 singers. Every time I changed the channel the same things were on---just like the normal QVC products being shown. Theme of QVC must be "Over and Over Again."

I enjoyed QVC in the Olden days where the hosts were fresh and funny, the products more diverse, and during the down time, the hosts would cook with their kids. Progress is not necessarily better!

I've got to say the parade stuff bored me, but I did watch a segment on cookies with one of the hosts & her husband on Christmas Eve. I was too busy & tired to watch anymore.

I agree. Many, many people do not celebrate Christmas at all. I am one of them. Why should I not have the option to buy something that day if that's what I want to do?

If it was a holiday for me, I wouldn't be watching any shopping channel at all. Thanksgiving is the biggest holiday of the year in my family, and QVC, HSN, or any of the others are not the tiniest bit on my radar that day. Observing a holiday (especially a religious one) does not IMO mean watching home shopping channels.

People who don't want to buy anything from a home shopping network on Christmas Day can easily avoid doing so. No one is forcing anything.

I didn't see all the programming, and what I did see, I liked, (especially at some point over the last couple of days I saw Mary with Trisha Yearwood, that was GREAT), but I miss some of the old stuff they used to do. Like when hosts or vendors read to the kids, or when a host would cook with their kids.

I'd like to see them re run some of the really old Christmas Day stuff during that day of non live programming. It would be great to see some of those recorded messages and spots from many years ago.

I don't watch QVC very much anymore, but that's how Christmas programming always used to be. When did they stop doing that?

It was always sweet to see the hosts cooking together, or making cookies with their children, and things like that.

I really enjoyed Dolly Parton... I saw her singing twice. She's such a gorgeous little bird and I dearly love her voice!

I enjoyed what I did watch; mostly too busy with company and cooking myself. Thank heavens there are other channels to watch, eh?

Oh please, doing what...? Lecturing? Oh well, each to their own. In the spirit of the season, I'm glad you enjoyed her. I guess she's just not my cup of tea.

As for the programming, typical Q: repetitive. I didn't expect much so I suppose it was a tad better than expected, at least the small snippets I saw... Glad there were plenty of other things to do and to watch...

I personally wasn't impressed with Jill's decorating tips or cooking lessons... it's not like she is an interior designer or a chef or something..... but as Stevie said, to each their own.... This is my first year with QVC and I'm surprised they actually go for two days without selling stuff!!

I actually watched Jill a few minutes ago. I was channel-surfing, and she was doing some crafts & setting up a buffet, and it looked as though it might be interesting. But I agree - not at all impressive. Her lemon centerpiece looked like a child did it, and the buffet set-up was not at all appealing. Every one of her "hints" were things I think we all know. So I really disagree that she could have her own show on national TV.

Not interesting or compelling at all. But yes, to each their own!

(They only go one day without selling. They'll be back live at 8 am.)

I know they'd like us to believe she's the second coming of Martha, but, well, no dice...

Re: Just Gotta Say - LOVIN' THE QVC CHRISTMAS PROGRAMMING

I enjoyed seeing the parade once but how many times did it play? It seemed like every other hour it was on. I really enjoyed the performances of Barry Manilow, Willie Nelson, Dolly, Train. And seeing the hosts and their families was nice.
