Totally agree!! I've been thinking the same thing this entire month of CIJ.  Wayyyy too expensive.  I like the idea of using them in places you wouldn't normally put a real flame, and they look nice, but not at that price.  Too many lower priced options.  I just can't "imaginere" paying over $65 plus s&h for tealight candles.

I saw that the first CIJ weekend they did the presentation. I sat there stairing at the tv thinking to myself, " that can't be right".

I agree about the battery cost.  Luckily it seems like they are partially bringing back PLUG in Christmas lights but still have so much that requires batteries and C and D batteries are expensive.  I wish you had a choice of a plug or batteries.

Now those bethlehem lights window candles - batteries lasted forever in those.  I had assumed they'd all burn out in January so kept up planning on using up batteries and taking down.  They were still lit in July so finally took out of windows with batteries still working.

Shop around, folks!   I bought a set of 3 large Luminara candles with a remote a year ago elsewhere. I paid $18.  They were beautiful and bright for about a week, then got dimmer and dimmer.  I had to change the batteries every 2-3 weeks and eventually tossed them.  I have other brands of flameless candles that stay bright for months.

But, honestly, I'm kind of done with flameless candles.  The love affair is over.

ITA.  Not only that, but they (all flameless candles, actually) eat batteries like crazy.

I bought 6 Luminara tea lights last year......didn't pay that much!  But I thought they were so cute and handy........until I bought batteries.  Bought a bunch from Amazon, figuring they would last a long time.  Wrong!!  At first I thought maybe one was a dud until they all started going out in a couple of weeks, and I was even careful about how long they were on.

They need to improve these big time!

Re: Is it just me?

Candle Impressions just released a set on the Q that has four tealights and six votives for about $26. I'm not sure if they're as good as Luminara candles with all the bells and whistles, but it may just depend on how you use them.
