so funny

Last night I was watching Jay King on HSN.
He was in the middle of a story about some stone. It was interesting actually!
They put up the "sold out" sign on it, and the man looked like a deer in the headlights.
He stopped mid-sentence and wasn't quite sure what to do!
He looked at the host, who acted like the studio was on fire.
Geez, it's not that urgent when something sells out!

I agree~~it disrupts the "flow" of the presentation~~and I love when a "color" sells out, the host tell the model to quickly leave as if the studio were on fire!
I agree. Also, when a heavy KA mixer or an entire set of TT sell out, they have to rush to take it off the table and waste time. Can't they just skip over it when they go over the colors for the millionth time!

As an earlier poster suggested, a crawl would b sufficient.
Or an occasional update... Just not so often...

I have never understood the rush to take sold out options off the stage. As obnoxious as it is, I guess I can see not continuing to discuss or describe a sold out item, because 'time is money', although you'd think a few seconds to allow someone to finish a sentence wouldn't be so critical. But if one of several options sells out, it's like they have a hissy fit to get it off the stage... I really wonder why that is. I'm sure at one time there might have been a valid reason, and would just like to know what it was or is.

They do seem to waste so much time reviewing colors, the number left, the number they started with, and removing the sold out. Guess they have nothing else to say that they haven't already covered.

True! They need to change their script.
Vendor: "I feel Im having a heart attack" Host: Wait, very quickly, only 100 in the purple and a dozen in the blue" LOL!!

For me, it's about the absolute rudeness of interrupting or over-talking that is offensive. I don't do well with stuff like that because I believe in manners and common courtesy.
That said, however, it seems to be 'a thing' now - no more politeness or manners. No more common courtesy. Just talking over people with nary a thought, or care apparently, about it being rude. It's in tv shopping and talk shows - any scenario where there is more than one person, and talking, involved.
It is one of the things that will make me leave a show, whether it's tv shopping or a talk show. It's not even that it is just here and there. It has become VERY prevalent.

The kitchen shows are the worst at this. It's flat out offensive! It's one of the reason I quit watching the kitchen shows. When the host wasn't giving how many were left in each color, he's in the back ground making sniff/snort noises. Vendors need to be able to give needed information to customers. Why can't hosts let them?
