Re: In the kitchen w diet…

Pompous and talks at the vendors instead of to them.

Re: In the kitchen w diet…

Totally agree about the constant low carb & sugar free diet. The sodium content, the grams of sugar on and on. I have also seen certain vendors chiming in. Maybe not everyone who watches wants low sugar or ingredient info? I'm interested in how this will pan out on gourmet holiday for CIJ bc I'm pretty sure St Clairs cornbread dressing will not be made low carb, Juniors cheesecake has a sugar free item already but I don't see them going completely keto. He's going to present and sell but I don't need to be reminded of diets,or numbers.

I can think of a hot place that's pretty cool now.  Never thought I'd see it or David taking heat--pun intended.

@SimplyToni-
I’m a dietitian as well, and I wholeheartedly agree with you. He’s NOT a dietitian, and his self righteous advice drives me crazy.

When did David Venable become a registered dietitian? There's nothing more negative to those struggling with weight issues than someone who's a member of the Diet-Of-The-Month Club preaching bad eating habits. Unfortunately, much of the "information" that this host preaches is incorrect or misleading and is nothing more than promotion for his diet plan. Take it trom a legitimate dietian.

@SimplyToni, well said.

I've never ever seen the draw that DV has had over the years, let alone now.

I don't watch his shows unless I'm just checking to see what's on.  And that has been enough! Cat Indifferent

Guess Steve and Rosina will be gaining the pounds during the Food Feast this weekend. Think.seeing David taking a small bites on some shows lately just turns me off because they are using Steve and Rosina to do what made him overweight and probably  unhealthy.

Recently watched Jayne and Rick doing a Gourmet Show and thought they did a great job ,saw them eating and looked like they were  enjoying the food ,even Rick got me to order something for my son's upcoming birthday,as I did not know what to send him .Thanks Rick.

Lately can  not watch David staring and standing over his co-host with his  arms cross,giving orders for big bites,just turns me off,and if he does take a tiny bite and the camera is still on him,have seen him putting the rest under the counter.

If it is a health reason I could more so undetstand,but never heard him say had a medical scare,  the way he ate on his shows before a course you will put on the pounds common  sense.

Health scare? David was obese as I read constant reprimands and threads on this board how unhealthy it was. Now he lost this dangerous weight and all he gets is criticism. Maybe David doesn't want to disclose possible diagnoses. But anyone as overweight as he had become is  a possible diagnosis of heart disease and Type 2 diabetes at the very least.

Why does he need to eat the unhealthy food that QVC sells? Makes no sense.

Dude has no idea what he's talking about, nutrition-wise. Wraps are carbs, sweet potatoes are carbs, whole-wheat pasta is carbs. Sucking the white chocolate peanut butter off an apple slice looks STOOPID. He simply lost weight eating higher-quality carbs -- that's perfectly commendable.

Re: In the kitchen w diet…

I think it's the preaching that turns people off, not whether or not he was obese and took the steps to correct it.

Preaching about things he doesn't know what he is talking about and naive, gullible "followers" hanging on his every word.

That has ruined his show...nothing else...preaching.

He also tried to turn newer hosts into buffoons because of this new found religion and it was never fair to them.
