@anxious1 - I don't think anyone on this forum is wealthy or with unlimited budgets.
I try to wait until an item is on sale and/or free shipping. If it's something I can't live without, I'll make the purchase. Oftentimes by waiting, I'll miss out on something. That's okay though.
I have also picked up QVC items on Ebay - new with tags - at great prices.

@anxious1 - After reading your post, along with your nic, you are buying for the "thrill" looking for a quick high then you have the letdown once you wear it and move on to the next. This all suggests you have a compulsive need to shop. Perhaps you should seek a therapist to help you break this habit.

@anxious1 wrote:All good points ladies. However you may have missed the part that said I USED to shop a lot I have not in a long time. My point is QVC is lsing money and instead of lowering price they raise it a lot. For people that are not wealthy this really does not work. I have not carried a balance or paid interest anywhere in 15 years. I think I am okay. And I don't know anyone personally that does not find shopping fun. That is kind of the idea. And I was not speaking of myself about wanting something else (but I have been in the group) I referred to QVC customer in general that keeps them going. However when I do want something it is last clicks or as is cause I am not paying the crazy prices, Yhank you for your concern. I understand it was with good intentions.
QVC prices are right in line with mainstream retailers. I shop very little at QVC not because of price but because their clothing design and fabric content are no longet my style.
I just bought a beautiful winter zip up jacket at LLBEAN for $100. Worth every penny. Beautifully made, and great design. Macy's, JCREW, and other companies all have similar
pricing. Prices are up everywhere for everything. They won't be going down. They never do.

@anxious1 wrote:I realize I am way in the minority here and a lot of Q shoppers are blessed with a much better income than a few older people on a fixed income. I used to buy a LOT, but now I an out priced even by Denim and Co. Prices are up everywhere but I used to get great deals here which is why I bought a lot. I don't understand the prices on clothes etc. For me no matter how expensive something is the thrill/fun of something new fades very quickly and I am enticed by the next item. Now when I buy it has to be last clicks or as is etc. I know as soon as I wear it once I will want something else. Am I the only one?
I can understand partly what you are saying. I find myself being in disbelief at the prices of clothing these days. But not only clothing, but just about everything! I find myself reminiscing about the prices the Q had in the past. I used to be able to buy silver and gold and fashions and they were priced so well. The prices seemed to me to be much better than most other places. Now, I find this is not so. I occasionally will buy something on "as is" and then I find more normal prices -- at least to me. Other than that, I shop at b&m stores and get much better prices. I am a senior - don't know what you age bracket is -- and probably don't have as much spendable income as a lot here also. I have to budget my spending on extra things. But being retired, I don't need as much as I used to. I still love to shop and I still love to have pretty things but I know that I have to do so with my budget in mind. If your spending is getting to where you can't pay what you need to for your every day expense, then that is a problem. If not, then if you want to buy something and you can afford it, then why not? If you get bored with an item quickly, then I have a couple suggestions. I would say visit your item several times before you "point and click". LOL! Then if you still love it and can afford it, then buy it. Also, if you are prone to changing your mind a lot, purchase less expensive things or clearance or marked down things in stores. That way, you aren't spending as much and when you wear it a few times, you can donate it. I hope this helps!

It doesn't sound compulsive to me at all. We all need to shop at sometime or another.

I agree with your comments about Denim & Company. When they first started on QVC their prices were more inline with the big box stores. I used to purchase a lot of their clothes back when their prices were reasonable. If it turned out to be an item I liked, I'd order in additional colors. People frequently stopped me in stores to ask about their fleece & denim jackets I had on.
The other day I saw a pair of their denim jeans I thought might be worth trying until I saw the nearly $60 price plus shipping. I can pick up jeans at Kohl's for under $25 when they are having their sales. I can't justify $60 just to try something.

You can get much much better prices on clothing if you shop at Kohls. They have Vera Wang and Nine West clothing.

I have a budget and I try really hard to stick with it. There will always be temptation to try and steer me off track but back to reality makes me look at what I need and not what I want. Things are tight for me right now so I really have to watch every penny. Hoping things will get better soon so I can go back to shopping just for fun...I miss those days.
