@Othereeeen - LOL, that's a lot of "ifs".  I doubt that QVC got 1560 new customers every hour for the entire weekend.

We should all sign on as new customers, using a different email.

Since I don't watch QVC on a regular basis or for any length of time, if they do offer something for long-time customers I hope someone will post it here.

Not that I really care since I've ordered a total of 8 items from QVC this year and one of those was because I had a $15 off $50 coupon!!!

QVC knows its customer base is very loyal (i.e. a high percentage are repeat customers).  So, rather than trying to get these people to buy more in a tough economic environment, they are trying to expand the customer base.

Good in theory, but I bet they didn't anticipate alienating their loyal base.

@Venezia

I agree...I just averaged it out...I'm sure the most popular hosts draw in more interest and viewers, but I bet it was a lot of them...

And really, free shipping may be a "thiing" on QVC, but a LOT of the big online vendors have it all the time.

And some of the products sold on QVC that are national name brands....it pays to check thier sites before you buy from QVC....

And in the end we all know...NOTHING is "free".

We are paying for that shipping no matter what.

@giova @Many of us do have more than one email address.  Not sure if this would work, if the same shipping address is used?

If QVC provides some kind of offer for old customers, I may take advantage of it and buy something that I know I will like and use from a brand that is available nowhere else.  Possibly......but the damage is already done.  After 30 plus years, I will not go back to shopping as usual at QVC.

I wonder if their records go far enough back to see how long some of us are customers.  When I started shopping here, I would think that their computer system as it is today did not exist.  Maybe our names were on 3 x 5 cards in old file cabinets hahaha.  Seriously though, wonder how they can determine who exactly is an old customer.

At the moment, I have one advance order coming to me that already has a free shipping offer.  I'll keep that, but think long and hard as to whether I'll order anything else if I am charged shipping.

We have options, and I'll choose what the best one is for me.

The biggest rub in this whole thing may be yet to come when new customers try to use their "Free Ship" code for subsequent purchases after the first one...and they find "it don't work." Rut roh! 😲

We all know this company is notorious for IT problems and the like. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if there are "glitches" when it comes to actually implementing this fab new promotion. Newbies may end up having something to bit*h about too. Ha!

BTW, you know what I got 30+ years ago when I became a new customer? Zilch. Oh, I take that back. I did get a little paper card with my QVC member/account number on it. After all these many years I still know that eight digit number by heart. Sad.

It does seem like a poor marketing strategy.  I guess they want to show their shareholders at the end of the year that they have x number of new customes so we are doing good.   It remains to be seen how many of those "new" customers actually buy anything.

Agree.  It reminds me of the Wells Fargo debacle when they just about forced you into opening multiple accounts.  Between my then 18 year old son getting his first account and myself we had several between us.  Wells got caught and had to compensate their customers for their useless tactics just to look good on the Asset sheet.
