While a piece of jewelry may be shipped at First Class for half the price of the $6.95 label.... that doesn't include Insurance, which would be the sender's responsibility. Depending on the value of the piece of jewelry it's approx $2.30 for every $50 of value which would put the cost of returning well over the QVC $6.95 cost. Every time you ship a package without insurance you take the chance of it being lost.... and if it's lost without insurance you lose the item and still have to repay QVC for it.... just a warning....
I sell on eBay and I insure all my more expensive items that I can't afford to lose. The rest I self-insure and will refund the buyer and lose the item and it's sale. Which has happened on occasion over the years.....
I rarely buy "expensive" jewelry that would need to be insured. And if I did buy something expensive, it would be from a local store and not from a shopping channel.

All this is done to discourage returns. Email me a return label? I don't have a printer and I have no intention of getting one. HSN has slipped in my mind. The only thing I now buy from them is an occasional Benefit Cosmetics item.

I agree, the Q has the best customer service. Will not be ordering from Evine again. They sent me the correct item, but the invoice has someone else's name, address etc. on it. When I contacted them, they acted like this was no big deal that my privacy and the privacy of the person on my invoice has been compromised.

We have our business mail sent to a box we went in our local UPS store, so I always prefer UPS return labels and will choose it when offered a choice by some companies. I like that I can easily get it scanned and then have proof and tracking info. Fedex and USPS are a pain for me.

Thanks, @Trinity11. But the time I called for a USPS label instead of the UPS label they did send, I was told I couldn't return it via USPS, even though that was how I received it.
The do provide labels for the returns I've wanted to make that have to go to CALIFORNIA, but they aren't prepaid...and haven't been inexpensive!

It is my understanding that if an item is shipped directly from the manufacturer, no return label is provided.
I often don't get return labels with Evine orders either.

@Marp wrote:I made several recent purchases from HSN and each order had a return label, including the tracfone I ordered.
Granted, some of the return labels are easier to spot than others. The one for the fry pans is obvious with dark print and a reasonable size. The one for the tracfone is a small non-descript label with light printing located at the bottom right corner of the packing slip that is easy to miss.
@Marp- Then they have made that change since I ordered and returned over six months ago. Because, as I said, I phoned them to ask for a return label and was told they could not send me one and that I would have to return it myself (and they gave me the address).
They made it clear the Tracfones did not come with a prepaid label. Maybe they got a lot of complaints and made a change.
I still have the original invoice - no return label of any kind.

Never ever had a return problem with HSN. Always receive return labels on all orders. Maybe some people have return issues because of where they live. I'm in So Fl no problem.

Where a customer lives shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not he gets a prepaid return label. I can't imagine a retailer basing returns policy on that premise.
QVC doesn't discriminate on that basis; why should HSN? (And it's not like I live in Outer Mongolia. I live in civilization; running water and everything!)
My feeling is that, possibly at the time, they simply didn't want to bear the cost of return shipping and put it on the customer.
