I got an email back from Russell Stover, the women said they are working on getting them out and that we should have them well before the Holidays. When I got home today, I had a message on my answering machine from QVC saying that they are to be shipped out this Friday the 4th and that instead of the penguin there will be an additional nutcracker tin. I am not sure if they will be, but it's what my message said.

It's November 30th and I had chosen the November 9th ship date for the character tins and chocolate (3 sets); still not shipped....so much for getting these so I could do early mailing to various people for holiday gifts.

@MsKats This is getting more bizzare by the day. I also got a call at 9:00 am. (Thanks for blowing me out of bed by the way) My call was about a Nov 9th order as well. When I tried to cancel it, it jumped to the date of the 30th. Now wait this gets better. My call said I will receive a nutcracker instead of a penguin???? There is no penguin in the tins I ordered. There was a Penguin in last years tins. Is that what they are sending???

My call also said my order will ship on the 4th of Dec. If I get last years tins almost a month late, there is no way I will pay for them. What a mess!!!!

@gogirlfriend The funny part is I got same call from QVC but there was no penguin in that set?? There was in last years set. Does that mean they are shipping the old sets??? If so I am going to be ticked off.

@gogirlfriend @MsKats @Jinlei @FancyPhillyshopper I think I am in the Twilight Zone. LOL I got a call this morning telling me my order will ship by Dec 4th. I just looked and my order shipped. The question is my message said they will substitute the Penguin with a nutcracker. There was no Penguin in the set. There was a penguin in last years set. Is that what was shipped A old set???

The best part is I tried to cancel this order 3 times and now it shipped. I will keep it if they are the new Tins but not if they sent last years .

@Kachina624 So they blow me out of bed to tell me my order will ship Dec 4th. I just looked and it shipped??? I will let you know what I get if anything. Be back going out to driveway to bang my head on it. LOL

I must admit I have a soft spot for Russell Stover. I am often in Montrose, Colorado, a small ranching community in the Southwestern part of the state on the cusp of a National Park. RS has a large factory there. On the front of the manicured grounds is a large outlet store the size of a supermarket. I've spent many happy hours there. They have huge 4 X 8 tables each piled high with a candy speciality, holiday, novelty and boxes and boxes of chocolates. They also now make Whitman's chocolates. They probably have some old penguin tins.

The first time I was there, I'm sure my eyes got as big as saucers. I was like a kid in a candy shop. I'd never seen so much candy. I always left with an armload. Happy memories.

I posted this in another thread, but I'll also add it here -

A little follow up to my earlier post. Last night (Sat), after dark, I heard someone coming up my ramp and then a clunk as something was dumped at the door. The vehicle was gone before I could even see who it was or a company logo. I rarely get a nighttime delivery and no one rang the bell. I find a plain box with a scrunched up label and open it and guess what it is?! My Russell Stover tins with candy (the TSV from earlier this year).

I checked my acccount at QVC this morning and so far the order has NOT been sent, but is in process and expected to arrive on Dec 5th. That's funny, since I'm looking at it sitting in my kitchen.

Who knows? Maybe others will have their orders show up, too. Whether I keep it or not is another question. I'd like to try the candy to be sure it's fresh before making a final decision.

And there is no penguin or nutcracker tin.. All 5 are the ones advertised for this year. I hope everyone else gets their order soon.

@Kachina624 The candy was excellent last year. The Tins were adorable. I am collecting them and so are many on my list. I will not be happy if I get last years tins because that was the idea to add to the collections. My order says they will be here on Dec 2, so they must be shipping fast. They said there will be no Penguin, but a Nutcracker instead. There was no Nutcracker in either last years or this years. It will be interesting. I will post on the 2nd when I get them and let everyone know what I got. This set gave you a choice of a Black or White Santa. I first ordered the black by accident and cancelled it fast. So it just started out all wrong.
