It was in 1999, DH began working for our cable company, which provided free cable to us as a benefit.  Unitl then, we only had the basic channels.  This opened us up to having extended channels.  

One evening, I was channel surfing and saw Annette Funicello. I stopped to watch...it was QVC.  It was the end of November and she was selling her collectible bears.  I saw an angel bear tree topper.  I ordered it immediately.  I still have that tree topper (my 1st QVC purchase), too!

As for me, we had moved. I was having trouble finding the Birkenstocks I loved and had worn since college. Where we lived before there was a store that had a big selection. They would get the newest ones in. My friends and I knew the manager, and he would "save" styles for us! 

So I Googled them and QVC came up! I couldn't believe the selection, and I ordered 3 pairs.

 I still hadn't watched QVC or explored the website. 

One Saturday the guys were camping, DH was at a sleepover, and I was cleaning the house. I sat down to take a break, and flipped through the channels. Laura Geller was on. The first thing I ordered was Blush and Brighten in Pink Grapefruit.

I started watching HSN somewhere in the 1980's--mid-80's maybe?  We didn't get QVC.  So I started watching QVC at my mom's house because that's what she had.

I watched a lot of HSN--Dan Dennis, Farah Fawcett's fabulous CZ jewelry which is as lovely today as when I bought it!  I won $500 on spin-to-win and bought a lovely long gold neck chain I still have and wear.  

HSN had a silver big sale one New Year's Eve night.  I was sick at home and WOW did I get some fabulous buys!  Hubby watched some bowl game and I sniffled and shopped.  Remember Tootie?  Was that HSN?

I started buying at Talbots about the same time.  Maybe a few years later.

In 2003 a co-worker had on a necklace I admired. I asked her where she got it and she said it's Diamonique, which I had never heard of. She then went on to tell me it was from QVC. I had to have it and the rest is history! It was my first purchase and I still wear it to this day and get compliments.

I was a stay at home mom of three and found CVN. One day in 1990 the station flipped over to QVC. Shortly after my lucky number came up frequently and won a $1000 shopping spree. Jeff Hewson pulled my number out of a drum. I think this was weekly. The hosts like Kathy Levine, Steve Bryant, Steve Coluntuno, Molly Daly were fun. I made many jewelry purchases and kitchen stuff. Not so much now but still here.

My sister and her family rented a cottage by the shore one summer, and several of my brother-in-law's family showed up unexpectedly. Waiting for dinner to be cooked took forever due to the surprise visitors, and added work. Low and behold, CVN was on, and it caught my attention.

WOW ..... many of us have been around a long time.  I started watching HSN mid 80s.  Then found CVN/QVC.  Still a viewer but not with as much enthusiasm.  I find it hard to believe I purchased Tova from Kathy Levine and never smelled it.

In the summer of 1994 we got PrimeStar & I found Silver Style! Such fun to watch back then!

I think I started out watching  TV shopping channels with HSN and that one ancient host Bobby tooting a horn as she was selling whatever thay sold back then....

My first ever QVC shopping channel purchase was a very gaudy watch awful looking with rinestones...  I guess it fulfilled some kind of NEED in me at the time LOL! 

This was pre internet... everything was phone calls.... I remember one male  goofy obnoxious  host constantly saying THE PHONE LINES ARE CLOGGED... I always invisioned a clogged toliet
