Re: Holidays with Jill Bauer

She was back to decor on the Nov 4 show but I didn't catch it right away because I figured she was selling boring gifts.

Re: Holidays with Jill Bauer

I could be wrong, but I think Jill Bauer could be the next high-profile host to leave QVC.  By taking away the decorating shows, and her comments about selling their home at the Jersey Shore, plus her comments that their life will be going in a different direction, sounded to me anyway, that something is in the works for Jill.  Ive not been her biggest fan over the last couple of years, because I personally think she got a little too full of herself!  But I'll miss her decorating shows if the Q doesn't bring them back!  She's also been with QVC for 20+ years, so has lots of experience.  Something the new hosts don't have.  The hosts that have bought into this hard-sell, fake excitement, thinking about their next pose (fingers on face eg) buying while on air etc etc., lose me within the first few minutes!  Seeing how some hosts have completely changed their image, and their selling style, is very off-putting to a lot of us.  If I want to see a particular program, I DVR it, watch it later, but I lose out on 'one-day-only deals and 'easy-pay for the show deals etc., which I think is another wrong move by the 'powers-that-be'!!  People have to work QVC, we can't all just sit and watch live!!

I don't follow Jill, but am curious if she's unloading her beach home... It seems she just redid it, so unless that was purely for resale value, it seems unplanned. I believe she and her husband have both had some connection, in relatively high-paying capacities, to QVC for a number of years, so, although one never knows (and shouldn't) other people's business, I can't imagine they're hurting...

@AJW, I sure do hope you're wrong about Jill leaving, but the indicators seem to be pointing in that direction.  Jill is one of the few hosts left that I can actually sit and watch.  I've always felt she's excellent about giving specifications and knows the products she's selling.  I also never feel that she's "phoning it in." Could we be BFFs?  No, but I don't watch the Q to make girlfriends, I watch to buy what I'm looking for or interested in. I do think other hosts could learn something from Jill.

QVC has had two down quarters in a row.  Last quarter sales were down 6%.  I am sure there is pressure to bring up sales.
