While I’m sure those in the audience for these shows find them somewhat entertaining and enjoyable, even engaging to some extent, what is glaringly obvious is that the demographic is 50-60+ as far as participants. My point is, for all the attempts by the Q to reach a younger market, it would appear that the mark has yet to be hit. The theatrics portrayed by hosts to rally the troops seem to fall a bit short of the mark. YMMV.

@mzmaree.  They have seemed to have changed their attitude somewhat with the new campaign glorifying 50+ women.

Perhaps they wisely concluded "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".

Maybe they finally realized the market they've been trying to attract doesn't have the disposable income as their more mature market.

@walkingal

So Q immediately infantilizes women over 50...the ones with the discretionary money.

I'm 68 and I NEVER acted like the buffoonery I see portrayed on the channel these days when I was 50 or over.

Nonsense for nonsense sake.

Wonder how a mostly male audience of that age would like to be portrayed as morons,, simpletons and idiots.

How long would that last...especially if it was a product of a FEMALE CEO's fever dream of what they have become at that age?

Every audience I've ever seen over the years has always been consistently older.

My description of that QVC audience today would be sparse.

I did see a portion of the live show audience. But, we must remember, the younger people, at least most of them, have jobs and other commitments. I know within my family of the younger generation, they wouldn't have the time to participate in these live shows. I think they would enjoy them if I asked them to go with me IF they didn't have to work.

I believe most, if not all, of the audience is retired or semi-retired and has the free time to attend.

From my experience, younger folks and some older folks make fun of QVC and other shopping channels.

They don't tune in and don't order.  Heavens forbid that someone would see a QVC box on the porch!

If I were part of the powers to be at QVC, I  would ship in discreet boxes.

@Carmie, You are so right.  My kids are way too busy to sit and watch QVC. I really think it is something that old folks watch for entertainment and as a source for buying many needs.  It is a joke.  I did not start watching until I was retired myself. Way too busy before.

Believe me, this is a true story!  I was reading an obituary of a woman who passed.  It said she would be missed by her "husband, etc., and QVC."  You could not make this up.  Published in The Hartford Courant, CT's biggest newspaper.
