The actual price is $99.98 or $98.99 +$3 s&h + taxes
Or "$49 and change" (e,g., $49.99) and they don't, like you say, factor in shipping costs or taxes. And don't get me started on the food items! When you calculate the beef, chicken, etc. by the price per pound, yowza! It sometimes could be as much as $20//lb for chicken or burgers! I don't care if the shipping IS free!
@katiescarlett: I agree that the food items are priced very high. And they shouldn't say that the shipping is "free." It most certainly isn't, b/c it's built into the high cost of the item. In reality, the shipping is "included."
That's the truth!

Buying food is not a good idea to me. I did it once---never Again.

It's not a matter of whether it's worth paying full price, which you do whether you make one payment or pay over time, it's a matter of maybe you can't or don't want to pay in full. If you can stretch out the payments without incurring finance charges why not. BUT be careful because it's too easy for that easy pay to get you in trouble. Easy pays add up if you're not paying attention, trust me I know.

The worst, @Shanus, is when they start "begging." Their producer must be telling them it's not selling, b/c they start begging, like "come on, it's 'only' $49.99." And you would have to put a $1 in front of that in B&M.
It's like they're saying to buy it whether it's good or bad, b/c it's so cheap. It's just pitiful....

I think that it's a way to spur impulse shopping by making it look like the item, whatever it is, isn't expensive. But there has been price increases across the board at the various shopping channels and they are doing their best to disguise it.

I don't care for easy pay at all. I wonder how many people "fall for it" and are paying for items for 6 months. Also, if you don't pay off your credit card every month, you are paying interest on the payments. QVC sure is promoting easy pay many times every day. Sales must be down.

Another point on easy pay is they say, 5 months at ONLY X amount, but that doesn't include the shipping and tax.

Love the calm, sophisticateed way Mrs. Jayne Brown says, "Feel free to buy as many as you like." ![]()

There must be thousands who do "Easy Pay." Just think how much you can buy for a couple of hundred a month for, well...the rest of your life.

@Daysdee. They're also promoting, way too often, getting a Q Card...even a QVC credit if you apply for it. It's to their advantage that customers do not use charge cards since then they have pay %. If something is returned, they do not get that % refunded.
