It's not just congress, 'professional' politicians of all ilks seem to leave much to be desired... Approval ratings reflect that, at all levels, it seems... But about that name thing... Eventually it WILL change, but I think you're probably safe for a few more years. This topic comes up every couple of years, ebbs and flows and Little Danny has sworn he will never change the name, so, well, not to worry...
I know, I know, I know... I really should've learned my lesson by now about buying it when you see it, ESPECIALLY where TJ Maxx is concerned. There have too many 'one that got away' involving that store... I can still remember a purse that brings tears to my eyes... I was on one of those pious, self-righteous kicks about not buying any more (like THAT was going last...) and let go of a bag that was destined to have been among my favorites, and I've never seen another like it (though heaven knows I've looked...). I mean really, Spurt, we're talking a TWELVE DOLLAR sauce pan... Why I didn't buy it is a total mystery to me... Well, as it turns out EVERYBODY and I mean everybody... sells RR cookware, but I can't find that little saucepan in blue anywhere, short of buying the whole set, which is SO not going to happen... Not a biggie and perhaps I'll see it again somewhere or other and if not, well, I'll find another saucepan I like... But sadly, I'll never find that purse again... And really, at the end of the day, you have to know that in my little corner of the world a purse is going to trump a saucepan every time!
Speaking of cooking. Two naps later and I still feel like I'd like to take a third, but it's time for dinner and despite all the talk earlier about trying to actually prepare supper on Sunday, I'm afraid it's something frozen from Safeway for me today! Won't be needing that saucepan tonight! Just don't feel like coming up with an idea, executing it and then cleaning it up... Thank heaven for the microwave!
Oh no Stevie....not an elusive purse too.....and you being a bag aficionado that must've hurt....
My sis, some other friends and I went to NYC on vacation and my sis loved it....On the other hand I preferred other vacation spots....so yes, she would enjoy living near "her man" no doubt...but the stadium is in NJ.....I dont know how that would fly!.
As for my team....yes Mr. Snyder is standing strong....for some odd reason...maybe I signed up for the team website I got an email from the Danny explaining his position to keep the name....but taking away the tax exempt status may put pressure on him...But d like one fan said on another sports website....if they were forced to change the name are they going to block the old films that have the old name, since it upsets them so
..... I think if Danny slipped these groups a little cash....this would all go away and would suddenly be forgotten
....Well I do my own boycotting....no casinos (and we have one in Eagle Pass, and another in AZ and OK not that far)......and no jewelry........
I think the microwave is one of the greatest inventions of all times.....
I just had some baked chicken and a salad.....the grocery store did the cooking....no cooking for me today either....

I'm devastated though, I went to stock my gift wing only to learn the morethanablender is NOT being offered in the Pantone color of the year! Hmpft! Sad, Q, very sad... And just how are we supposed to promote an "on trend" kitchen experience...?
I think at Kohl's you can the personal Keurig in purple. Not exactly the Pantone color of the year, but close.
I managed to avoid all 5 hours of ITKWD.
Went to Kohl's and got $60 worth of new bed pillows for.......$6.
Hey KS....well glad you found some good bargins at Kohls...
I didn't watch ITKWD either....I did some reading and worked on my patio plants ....

Gotta love those roasters from the grocers... I get one too every once in a while.
I ended up with a rare roast been and swiss sandwich and a cup of microwave tomato soup... Yes indeed, you can't beat those Sunday culinary masterpieces... and I can't imagine going back to pre-microwave days...
I have to say, I love NYC... Were I younger, I think it would be a fabulous place to live, though at this point I'll settle for periodic visits. But yes, there are lots of wonderful places to visit. Most of vacations lately though have been 'staycations' and that can be all right too.

Forgot to add, oh that purse, Spurt, it's one I'll NEVER get over... Just never... I still think about that one...
And yes, I know, I'm crazy...
Some bizarre woman grabbed it off the rack as soon as I put it back. She then held it to her chest as though she was afraid I might take it away from her (she must know me...) Truth be told, had she put it in a cart, I'd have probably found a way to recapture it...

Don't know why Danny boy is so vehement... I guess he thinks about the loss of all those marketing dollars, should the new logo and name not go over so well... Spurt, my friend, I hate to break it to you and understand you taking a stand, but I'm not thinking your boycott of those casinos is making a real big difference to their bottom line...

Not sure purple will do... It really needs to be orchid to qualify as THE color of the year..., after all...

Great deal on your pillows... I haven't been to Kohl's in a while. I used to shop their site a lot, but you get much better deals in the store and there's not one really close by. I'd rather shop their site, because the stores can be a little disorganized, but it seems like in the store everything is on sale and you get some really good bargains! I shopped till I dropped Friday night and yesterday, so today was a good day for me to stay in and just read and lay around... Not exciting, but necessary... I had planned to do housework today, but as it turned out, I did very little of that either!

Aw Spurt, all those great eateries... You could've at least gotten a hot dog from a vendor or a huge greasy slice of New York pizza, but Mc Donalds...? Really?

Oh I'd love to live there... Like I said, not so much now, but when I was younger... I'd love to have a pied a terre there though, so I could go up a few times a year and stay in my own place... There's so much to do... Gosh, just the shopping alone...!!

Oh my....a showdown for a handbag......
I could see you on the national news....ruckus over handbag sends a woman to jail....more details at 10....
The funniest "shopping challenge" I saw was at Tuesday Morning....dont know if you have them there....just all kinds of stuff at good prices....anyway...they had some unbelievable prices on quilts with shams.....and women were stealing them out of each other's baskets....
I guarded mine and got one.....
Hey I know that a boycott from me alone wont mean much, but I have friends with moms, aunts, and grandmas....that could really hurt those casinos....and if I offered them a little bit of cash for a Vegas trip maybe they would join in....

We were hungry after a very long day of sight seeing..... every restaurant was jammed packed with long lines out the door........we walked for what seemed like miles to find a place to eat.....I did not want a hot dog.....the greasy pizza was tempting...we just gave up and ate at McDonalds....but it did over look Time Square.....
Yes, I definitely wish we had more time to explore especially the shopping....but one of my brothers lives just a short Amtrak trip away from NYC.....and he has a guest room...

So help me Spurt, that woman was strange. I'd hung the bag up on the rack, looked at it longingly, knowing I shouldn't buy it, but I shouldn't put it back either, In retrospect I should have laid it away. Anyway, I stepped back and she literally grabbed it, clutched it to her chest, looked both ways as if someone was going to attack her for it, and slithered away... I mean, I just wanted to pop her. Not just for grabbing the bag, but for being so simple acting... I would have kept tabs on her around the store on the off chance that she put it back, but she seemed to disappear into thin air... Very strange. I've had people take things from my cart at the Maxx before and find it obnoxious, but for that bag, I truly would have probably done it myself!
It was a burnt orange traditional satchel and I had been looking for just such a bag for months. I was a fool to have a bout of conssicence at that particular time! Anyway, it will forever be the bag that got away and I never go to one of the TJX stores that I don't look, on the off chance that one like it will reappear, but it's been so long now that I know one won't. Several months later, I did grab a similar satchel, but in a dome shape made of Saffiano leather. Not nearly the one that got away, but close. At least the color is the same.
Anyway... yes, we have Tuesday Morning here too, though there are very few stores and while they were fun shopping at one time, they seem to have fallen pretty far down the discount chain ladder in my area, along with Ross's, if you have those... The TJX stores seem to have virtually cornered the discount market around here, with lots of stores, and that works for me, because I love them! I see though, that a new Ross's will be opening down the road from me, and they're good for some things, so I'll probably check it out.
Now Spurt, don't go organizing a boycott of the casinos or you'll be the one on the national news... I can see the awful press now about you leading the charge to deny our Aboriginal population their just due! And all over a sports team...
