Why does it take so long for an exchange?

@nanbec - If you haven't done so already, follow up on your exchange by contacting customer service—when they can verify that your package is officially on its way to QVC, they can typically initiate your exchange right away so you don't have to wait and hope your request is processed appropriately at the warehouse. The chat feature is a particularly quick and simple way to get things going. Good luck!

I refuse to request an exchange for this very reason. I love and appreciate QVC, but I have zero confidence in their ability to actually do an exchange. That's just the way it is with Q.

@Goldengate8361   Totally agree with you ~ I've never participated in this exchange program either. Just a gut feeling and not worth worrying about.

FWIW, I've completed several successful exchanges over the years, including two so far this year. For my most recent exchanges, I simply dropped off the package at the courier, waited until the tracking confirmed it had moved to the next stop, and then reached out to customer service via chat. The agent was able to verify the package was in transit and then initiate my new order right away, allowing me to avoid waiting and make sure my request was handled properly.

I even had an instance a few years ago when I returned a Dutch oven three times due to damages resulting from poor packaging—but I finally got a perfect one and use it all the time.  Smiley Happy

All that said, I have experienced exchange requests that were processed as refunds instead; it's never quite clear whether this is due to improper handling or true lack of inventory. But the majority of my exchanges have worked out.

P.S. I don't think the Easy Returns team officially exists anymore, so I wouldn't bother trying to contact them for help; there are no references to them anywhere in the FAQs or customer service details on the website, and the last time I emailed them, they didn't respond until the day after I received my exchanged product.

I have tried to exchange only to have it refunded and told it was not available.

I tried to exchange an item recently for a different pant length and on the return form there is no where for an exchange. As it is the one on the computer. So I called customer service only to be told I can't make an exchange from a regular length to a petite I have to return and rebuy at a higher price? Sorry, I kept them and now I'm really sure when I purchase that it is what I want. They rarely include the invoice with my clothing purchases so it's impossible to exchange using that one.

@kimber07

Petite and tall sizes generally have different item numbers than the regular sizes.  You can only "exchange" an item for another with the same item number.

@Spacrazy @Goldengate8361  -  Agree with you all.  I think it's safer to place a new order and return the other one.  I did that recently instead of wondering if the exchange will happen or not.

Exchanges have not worked for me either.
On very few occasions I have resorted to buying the item in 2 different sizes knowing I will be returning one of them. It’s just easier, especially if I really like it and am afraid it will sell out.
