People are disappointed and offended when a QVC salesperson SELLS something.  LOL

David Venable started "Coffee Talk" during the pandemic. He does it Thurs. mornings on facebook & Fri. mornings on instagram. It's just been a nice way to chat, not sell anything, just chat...until today. I watched just long enough to hear him say that his chats will now stream live on qvc.com & they will post products that you might be interested in buying. I turned it off after that. Is nothing sacred anymore? Does it always have to be about the almighty dollar? Nevermind. I know the answer.

Did you ever think he was doing it just to be nice?  Its all about business, disguised as Coffee Talk.  By building a friendship with people who participate in coffee talk it helps sales.  I wouldn't be surprised if he got paid to do it.  Im sure he has better things to do than sit online and chat about the weather and his diet and say hello to everyone. I tuned in once to see what it was about and couldn't figure out what people got out of it.

I think David's Coffee Talk was a forerunner of the aftershow chats that many of the hosts are doing now online.  It's part of the hosts' jobs now.

It's also more convenient for those that are interested in the products mentioned, and for those that don't belong to Facebook or Instagram.  They can access all that right here on QVC online.

Dan Hughes has said he does not want online chats to invade his personal time/home life. He views his time on air as work time separate from his personal time with his wife and farm.  Kudos to Dan for bucking the trend of doing online chatting.

@bobby5  I don't really mind the products being posted. I watched Coffee Talk early on during the pandemic, because there was less to do outside of the house. I just watched it again today and tried both platforms. Let's face it, QVC and David, as a salesperson for QVC, are there to sell product. I don't mind seeing the products on streaming, but  watching on FB is less distracting (I watched on my TV). David has always talked about QVC items during Coffee Talk. Sometimes I would go to QVC.com to check out a particular item. The live stream chat makes it easier to shop.

BTW: David kept mentioning Lidia's Polish Pottery and claimed it was from Lidia Bastianich. I don't think it has anything to do with the famous chef and restaurateur. If that's the case, it's kind of a glaring mistake for a seasoned host.

I don't watch these shows but I would be interested in Lidia's pottery IF it is what was sold several years back. Lidia B did in fact sell some stoneware products that are EXCELLENT.  I got a set of 3 baking dishes (loaf, 7x9, 9x13) which are my favorite to this day.  They were sale priced and I think I paid under $30 for the set.  I can't find them anywhere but highly recommend if what David mentioned is the same product.

Lidia's Kitchen (Lidia Bastianich) has a premier show on HSN March 3rd at 2pm.

There are a number of new items already available online.

Stopped watching his Coffee Talks months ago. Every week was the same. No QVC gossip.  Spends time saying hello to everyone, talks about weight loss and ends the show with silly faces using some kind of electronic filter.  Waste of time.

I see that Alberti's weekly Happy Hour video chats on Wednesdays have also moved to Livestream.  You can still see it on Facebook.  However, you only get into the interactive chat with him & other posters if you go onto the Livestream for it.

The QVC hosts abide by their contracts, and that includes Dan Hughes.
