Re: David's 30th celebration

I watched about 20 minutes of the show. I wanted to watch because I thought that it would be special being David's 30th anniversary. JT, was so obnoxious and over the top that I had to change the channel.

That stupid "Honey" comment is unprofessional. I work with men and women and no one had better call anyone "Honey" we all have first names.

Why QVC allows this behavior to continue boggles my mind. It does not matter that David does not appear to mind the comment.

Just in the short time that I watch David did mention a few times that he was not going anywhere, which I don't think he will until he is ready. I did find the comment odd, especially since it was said more than once, in a short period of time.

@LizzieInSRQ Those clips are on the QVC streaming. It is a pleasant show.

@icezeus   David's own sense of stardom is enabled by his FB friends and his weekly Coffee Talk posters.  It's one reason why they keep a social media host in his ITKWD shows -- they are obsessed with him.  If he takes a day off he gets posts pleading for him not to retire.  If QVC changes the time of his show (like when they have special jewelry days), they tell him they called QVC to make sure they not let him go.

So David is talking to those folks directly when he repeats he's not retiring.  Forget the fact that there are probably just as many or more viewers who are wondering why in the world he's making a big deal about leaving.

What I find interesting, his last in-studio Live show in November did not sell out.  They tried to hide it, but you could see empty seats along the row edges and everyone was seated toward the center.  In past years, tickets sold out in 2 minutes, with upset viewers saying they couldn't get them.  Plus, his latest cookbook took 3 months to sell out (with David admitting he bought lots of copies himself).  Usually his items sell out in a couple of airings.

David is a good host still, but thirty years is a long time to maintain any kind of fervent popularity with everyone.

I know I am--obsessed that is.  I mean, I can hardly sleep at night when he's gone from the Q.  Why, I've been known to put an APB out on him. If that makes me a crack-pot, so be it!  LOL

I agree with the other poster who said Jane does this "Honey" business just as a rib to the viewers who hate it.  It has become so contrived now, that it just seems obvious that is what she is doing.  Such a sick person.

Re: David's 30th celebration

That was not David's 30th anniversary that he deserves. He had to stay to work extra hours instead of just ending his show. Still, he had to continue selling products and listen to JT. He continued working and offering products. I don't think he didn't get any restful and enjoyable special day other than overworking him. David deserves more.
