We watched last night and were underwhelmed. To give a company 30 years of sercice, deserved a bit more in my opinion. The products presented were the same old, same.old. David kept saying that he isn't going anywhere. And while I understand that he and JT are best friends, it felt like the tribute was to her. I have come to the conclusion that since she does not repeatedly call other hosts pet names, only David, that this must be a mutual agreement between them just to get under the skin of those that complain about it. She works regularly with Courtney, but does not use a pet name for her, ad nauseum. Anyhow, her antics were all at David's expense as she took the focus off of him and made sure it was right where she wanted it. This will get poofed, I am fairly sure. May I say before it does, that to me, JT is a childlike individual who smiles into the camera and all the while, scrapes her nails across the blackboard. It is a sad thing to watch someone in that state.

Did not watch the show but Q has been awful to the hosts that have built their company.
David has always been a joy, very happy, kind and quick to support any new employee. When on live shows he was so attentive and kind to the people in the audience. He is a gentle soul.
Q has no loyalty they will drop him in heartbeat.
It was so sad watching Jill keep saying on her shows
"I hope they keep me" and they dumped her after all those years.
Kathy and Lisa brought a whole new identify to home shopping and when the boss changed they left.
Obviously the guys at the top were wrong cause Q has sunk to new lows.

It's a job. It's about making a living and I think David has probably been very adequately compensated. Way more than most working folk.

I watched first hour, that was more than enough, it was same old, same old.

So much so, I wondered if he was trying to convince the viewers, QVC, or himself.

I love David Venable. I have no problem with him and Jane calling each other "honey". They became close personal friends right away after David was hired by QVC. I'm sure some of you have had nicknames or pet names for friends and family, but you probably don't have one for everyone close to you. It would be hokey if Jane had a pet name for Courtney and other hosts and guests that she works with and started using the pet name on air. That's all from me on David and Jane's friendship.
As for celebrating David's 30th year, the show was lackluster. I did feel the guests were genuine in their affection and high regard for David, but the show wasn't special enough. Maybe the set should have been decked out more (it looked like the regular ITKWD set). perhaps if they had really stepped out of character and dressed up that may have helped. Jane was kind of dressed up, but she was the only one. They should have been dressed up as Rosina was at midnight in that gorgeous sequinned burgundy suit.

I watched David's 30th celebration off and on. There was way too much focus on JT, and her sappy stories were over the top.
The products I saw were mediocre at best, yet the vendors had nice sincere thoughts regarding David.

Yes he has thirty years with the Q, but the show was still SELL SELL SELL because...wait for it...that's their business!!!!
It was the usual cornball fare, underwhelming item selections, and just another showcase for JT/DV silliness...I turned it off.
Did they give him a cake at the end ( or a low carb steak dinner made from a Rastelli "special cow"?!?!?!)
I hope he got a bonus check or something like that, but really, if YOU have thirty years with your company...did they do even a lunch for you ?
And if it REALLY meant that much to David, he would've taken the day off!!!
As for him staying or leaving?
It'll happen in ONLY the following ways:
1) He voluntarily retires or quits ( his choice).
2) He's let go for cause ( NOT his choice).
3) He's offered and takes a lucrative severance package that's advantageous to him and Qurate. ( both thier choices)....to avoid leaving WITHOUT that boost to his retirement accounts and the ability to collect Unemployment, health coverage to 65 (Medicare age) and other severance benefits....if they decide they have to reduce the workforce if Q doesn't turn around.
He's the highest paid salesman now, so he'd probably be the first offered to go. He and JT....Just like those other two who left earlier this year.....they couldn't sign fast enough for the package....
He'd be smart to wait for a package.
He doesn't own Qurate, and unless he has something on the CEO, he'll go in one of those ways!!! He can say "I'm not going anywhere" all he wants....unless someone else makes the decision for him, or makes him an offer he can't refuse!!!!
As long as he's thier top salesman, he'll be OK....after all...that's ALL that matters to the Q!!!

Tried to watch but got sick of JT trying to make it all about her. Desperate for attention.
