I really have to laugh when I see what the Q calls "clearance prices". Occasionally there is a huge markdown - like on a specific pair of shoes or boots, etc., but in general the markdowns (especially on clothing) are a few dollars. Really? Department stores have their clothing and Christmas items 50% off or more. How is a Susan Graver top marked down $5. a clearance price? I guess they have room in their warehouse because it doesnt appear they really want to clear it out!

That is the truth. Their clearance prices are unbelievably ridiculous. I was channel surfing and saw some clearance prices on HSN. They had one item that I saw (clothing) - HSN price was $69.00 - clearance price - $9.00. Now that's a deal. And if I remember right the clothing was one of the designers (Iman maybe). Didn't stick around to watch anymore - didn't want to be tempted by those great mark-downs.

After watching the sales at HSN and Evine, the sales are just unbelievable. Retail has 50% and even 75% off. You know, getting rid of the old things; making way for the new.

I learned long ago to have no expections during the holiday shopping season or the traditional after Chrismas mark-down season with QVC. Never happens.

I agree. Everywhere else there are really good clearance sales. I guess my definition of a clearance sale and QVC's is very different. To me, clearance is stuff you mark down really low so you can get rid of it and bring in new merchandise. For QVC, it means a slight markdown for a day or so and then put the price back up and keep selling it for years on end.

The fact that the markdowns/clearance prices are so little makes me wonder if the Q execs are receiving the same emails as we are w/ slashed prices. Major dept. stores are clearing out merchandise since spring orders are arriving...ready or not. Why purchase a Q item w/ $10 off when Macy's offering 50%?

Just thinking that sale prices are not that great because prices are too high to begin with...Q has too much invested in this inventory to "let it go" for a low price.

I just got a Margaritaville top that was $59.95 for $l4.95, free S&H at the Southern channel. They have new items to bring in.

I've learned to have no expectations of QVC. Period. Especially with regard to sales.
