I agree the 20 somethings aren't watching QVC, or any shopping channel, but I disagree they don't have the money to spend.

Over the years, it has been proven that no matter how bad the economy our your own financial situation, women continue to spend money on beauty items.

I have several friends with kids varying in age from early 20's to late 20's.  None of them are buying drugstore make-up. They are all buying and wearing the higher dollar color cosmetics.

As far as I am concerned Qvc is oversaturated wityh beauty.  They have an entire channel devoted to it as well as a large number of programming on the other channels.  Adding more to HSN will only reduce my watching time.

I think QVC has a special deal with UPS where they deliver merchandise from their distribution centers to the destination cities by wagon train.  UPS has completely gone to pot the last couple of years; slow, slow, slow.  I'd rather have them use USPS.

I actually prefer UPS..... Our USPS guy is AWFUL, he crams stuff into our small community mail box. I was so mad I had ordered some jeans and 2 tops from Macys ---I thought Id never get the wrinkles out the way he stuffed it in with a book I had also ordered and catalogs. He just didnt want to go the Mail Center a few feet away and wait for someone there to sign and check in the package! Woman Frustrated  And he also puts mail in the wrong mailbox all the time---So I end up re-delivering it.  I joke I work part-time for USPS!!!

I was watchng today,  HSN when Sara was on doing the hair towel thing and a video was played showing a few of the QVC models using it. Was a little surprised.

To see how much beauty is featured on QVC and then read that they don’t rank anywhere near the top 5 tells me they have some big changes to make. The fact that viewer numbers shrink as you go down in age is no surprise either. Young people are not going to watch 1-hour vacuum or pillow presentations. Heck, I won’t watch them. And older viewers are not likely to buy blue unicorn tears lipstick at any price. This should be an interesting next few years in home shopping programming.

I’d be fine if all the shopping channels quit TV completely and went to just online shopping. That is where I shop. I don’t sit and watch the shopping channels for entertainment. Most people have things to do with their day and don’t sit and watch people trying to sell them random items on TV all day.

I can’t even tell you the last time I turned on QVC to watch. I used to watch and buy all the time. I still buy from them, just not as much and usually from the website.

My main QVC product is WEN. I also buy clothes and shoes from them, but not like I used to. I frankly have become bored with their inventory and wary of poor quality. If I buy from a line and there are fit issues or poor quality, I am done and won’t buy it again.

Amazon has picked up a lot of business from me and their delivery is amazingly fast. Prime is well worth it to me. I would say that Amazon has mostly replaced my Walmart shopping.

I did have to laugh that at the exec who was surprised at the similarities between QVC and HSN’s offerings. I could have done that by watching and looking at the websites. Jeez.

I agree that there is way to much beauty shows on.  With that said I do prefer watching presentations if there is something I am interested it.  You don't get that with Amazon.

No doubt there will be changes with both and hopefully both will improve.  Right now there seems to be an issue with shipping charges and length of time to process and ship items....needs improvement.  And for a long time I have thought and posted about the boring shows...who has time to watch a tub of skin cream for half an hour?  Great products are key so please do not even showcase items that are sub-par.  Quality is important so we do not have to waste our time returning or complaining!   And why can you not come up with something as a perk for long time shoppers?  Maybe an extra discount once in awhile or coupon or free shipping....something, anything!

I agree about the 20-40 year olds not shopping QVC or HSN. My sons and daughter-in-laws would never think to shop these channels. They are all Amazon Prime members and that is all they shop. Good luck trying to lure them away
