They were let go with no thank you, or any ceremony, just whatever show they were on recently was their last?
Wow! There's at least one other thread on this topic, although I guess I missed all of this over the last day or two.
I also thought Dan had left a while back ... ???
I'm not sure a terminated employee would want a happy send off, especially if they were blindsided by the news.
(Could you make happy face at being fired? I couldn't ... and wouldn't feel obligated to try.)
Anyway, if this is new information for the terminated hosts, I hope they at least got a nice severance package.
I did not write the comment above. This is weird.

@Buv wrote:I am so done with QVC!!! I have been a member for 30yrs and I am horrified at what they do to 2 of the best hosts they ever had. That half wit Kirsten, is always on vacation , now on a 3mos church thing. Seems she can do whatever she wants. Why didnt they throw her out. She is obnoxious and I can't watch Gary without Carolyn nor Pat without Dan. Adios QVC
No disrespect, I'm sure QVC is shaking in their boots lol. Y'all are so over dramatic and so naive regarding all this. The reality is this type of thing happens all the time, and QVC "losing" 100, 200, 500, or even 1,000 angry previous shoppers isn't going to change anything or really "hit them where it hurts" - if you think you're sending a message loud and clear, to be honest doubt it'll amount to much - do I feel sad about how it was handled? Do I feel bad for Dan & Carolyn?
Yes, I do, but honestly and sadly there are much more important things in life, and sadly in today's world, to greatly worry about that will have a devastating effect on our lives for years to come (look at the chemical derailment in Ohio, for one!), very worrisome sadly.
I wish Dan & Carolyn the best, and am sure they'll find great new adventures in life.

While I think a send off for those terminated would probably be awkward, I think it would have been nice for them to be given the chance to say goodbye on air. One host comes to mind, Katrina Szish, said on air she would be leaving and let viewers know when her last show was. Of course, it was her choice to leave. This might not work for all hosts, especially those suddenly terminated, but it would be nice if they were given the choice. I tape Carolyn's garden shows, the last one on March 1st. She was her usual happy self and even mentioned at the end seeing everyone on her next show. She obviously had no idea that show was her last..

I know! I thought the same thing. I remember not long ago a camera women was leaving and they brought her in front of the camera and praised her etc etc. it's really disgusting the way they treated these seasoned and delightful hosts. No loyalty whatsover anymore.

Agree. It didn't have to be anything festive, but a chance to say "good-bye" would have been nice. I know there were 400 who were let go, but only several were on our screens in our living rooms, on our devices, so familiar to us that we knew the shows they hosted, the products they regularly showed, the vendors they paired up with. Their names and faces were part of our viewing and shopping for many years. The way this was done was a stab in the back, and a slap in the face to those of us who cared.

I sent a letter to the CEO. In my opinion the man is a callous individual the way he handled this. these were two loyal and beloved hosts!!

When you are laid off, no company ever has a " send off" party. The company I worked for laid off over 300 workers once...even one whole department. No one knew about it...it was quick and sudden. I had no idea until I heard it on the 5 o' clock news and I worked in the same building.
The TV station showed employees walking out to their cars with boxes in their hands. I was no more than 20 ft from the door separated by a wall and never had a clue.
I would wager that some coworkers might have taken or are planning to take Carolyn and Dan out to dinner some night as a send off.
I always thought it was stupid when QVC had retirement parties on air for the hosts who left. What kind of send off party is it really when you're still selling to the public up to the very end and then a cake shows up right before the next show starts?

@Reever I doubt the CEO had complete power in this lay off. He only heads the board of directors who make decisions and they are accountable to the shareholders. They vote, not any one person is responsible.
Writing to him with your complaints won't do a thing. He probably will never see the letter. He has people who read his mail and sort it.
Your letter will probably end up the irate customer, quack file.

@Carmie My thoughts exactly.
The CEO of Qurate, a billion dollar corporate conglomerate, is not plucking down to pick specific hosts or the other 395 employees to be laid off. Rawlinson answers to the Board of Directors, and the shareholders. Corporate shareholders make up the largest owners of Qurate.
Each separate company under Qurate has a President, Vice Presidents, Directors, and several other top heads that handle personnel and expense issues.
@Reever you'd be more accurate at posting the photo of QVC's President, and HSN's President, at least to start.
