Re: As-Is Now Final Sale

[ Edited ]

Let's face it - QVC's I.T. department/website is a mess.  How many "glitches" have we seen over the past year (or even longer)?  If indeed, this is a "glitch" and not another new "policy".  The jury remains out!

One or two you could excuse, but this is getting ridiculous, IMO.

@Venezia   I agree!  On the Aimee Kestenberg TSV day recently, the system showed new items, in any brand, were Sold Out and Waitlist Only.  Her crossboby TSV included.  In her first presentation in the 7am hour, she said her new wallets were all sold out, so they weren't being sold early in the morning.  Then they must have realized the glitch and started selling them.

I tried to buy a new top, but it said waitlist, so I gave up.

I just contacted CS and they asked their supervisor and they confirmed that "as-is" items are final sale and no returns can be made. I am really upset because they say on the item description the QVC return policy applies and then they do this at check out. It's not right and I'm so upset. It's very deceptive.

@Peppertime   Deceptive is right.

Are they admitting that the statement saying As Is items still fall under the standard Returns policy is now just a sales lie to get you to check out?  Then once you do they slam the door shut and tell you it's Final Sale?

  As Is Details

This item may be a customer return, vendor sample, or on-air display and is not in its originally manufactured condition. It may not be new and it may have been repackaged by QVC. Accordingly, the manufacturer may not honor any original warranty. However, QVC's standard return policy still applies.

Or the manager is just wrong. They need to just make it clear and fix either the error or conflicting message.

This is not the same company as it was. Policies are changing without any rhyme or reason. They changed the price adjustments without notification. As I stated, buyer beware.

This woman didn't say anything about a computer glitch. It came from her supervisor. I went back into my orders and I bought an "as is" blanket 2 weeks ago. At the time, I didn't get that red "final sale" message at check out but now it's there. Aren't there CS Mods here that can just answer the question? I want to buy an item that is almost $70 "as is" and there's no way I'm buying it if it's not returnable. Please moderators from the QVC Team, just answer our question.

Same with me. I had a few items already on order when all this came up. Clearance & As Is items. They were either "In Processing" or on the way. All of a sudden these items are now "Final Sale - No Returns" when they weren't when I bought them.

While I RARELY return anything, what if this jacket that's coming doesn't fit??? I'm s c r e w e d I guess!

On a good note, my purchasing came to a screeching halt so my credit card is happy!!!

@munchiesmom and others (again) :  I think it is fixed!  My existing As Is orders no longer have the final sale warning language on the View Order page.  Check your orders, and then maybe one of us will be brave enough to order a new As Is item..?

@Bookplate Thanks for the heads up!

It does seem to be fixed. Smiley Happy  I've been using the same item the past three days to test if the red No Returns statement is still there, and today it's gone.

Re: As-Is Now Final Sale

[ Edited ]

The "no returns" note has also disappeared from my past As Is orders. Hopefully, this really was just a system glitch, but I wouldn't be surprised if QVC is trying to limit the options for returns in general. It really must be frustrating and cost-ineffective for them to allow people to buy low-dollar items, return them, and keep recycling them fhrough the system, especially if the reason for the rare truly-low price was to try to get rid of inventory. And by the time that $10 top has changed hands five times, it may not be in good enough condition to sell to anyone anymore—plus at that point, they've probably spent quite a bit of effort and money in handling and shipping it over and over again.
