QVC management should have stepped up a long time ago. The problem is they keep giving Shawn extra chances.
When Shawn couldn't save Christmas with Nancy Yoon, they brought in Rick to save the show.
When Shawn intentionally blew her bad breath in her husband's face during a QVC livestream & kept bringing her daughter on camera since she claimed she didn't prepare anything to say or know what to do for her scheduled broadcasts, QVC canceled her livestreams.
When Shawn kept putting her hands on people after she rubbed her nose a few times, they told her to use tissues (which she stopped using after a few shows).
When Shawn kept interrupting and bossing people around, they ended up pairing her with other co-hosts.
When Shawn put her artwork on display which showed she doesn't know the difference between "then" and "than," QVC let her keep it there on set.
When Shawn shows up with badly chipped nail polish, they do their best to zoom in on her nails as if there's nothing wrong with it.
QVC managment has no idea what to do with her other than tell her to keep it real and keep daring to overshare. They see her as a comedian to put in the best timeslots with the best products. I don't see management changing their stance.
Shawn is usually on during prime time. That in itself tells us she moves merchandise.
QVC is in business to sell. There is no way they te going to let one of their better sellers go.
As long as what she says and does is not hurting business, it will continue.
You have to look at things from a business point of view. The only thing that counts in the bottom line. ( no pun intended)
Her complainers keep watching. I suppose they just like to complain.
If they were truly disgusted, they wouldn't watch, but they can't help themselves.
And, most of the complaints about her are superficial and catty. Meow!
This complainer is not watching Shawn Killinger. I do not tune into her shows, and I change the channel if I do a Q check and see that she's on. There are other hosts who appeal to me, and I watch their shows.
I don't think it's "catty" or "superficial" to. . .
* have concerns about the way she used her child as a prop and laughed at the way QVC legal told her not to do that. (Seriously, why are her fans okay with that?)
* be stunned by the way she announced she hadn't brushed her teeth during a QVC livestream (that started at noon) and turned around and intentionally blew her bad breath in her husband's face. (The man had a disgusted grimmace; he looked mad and embarrassed. Why are her fans okay with that and the way she goes on and on about not grooming?)
* expect a host who often goes on air with chipped nails to get a manicure before going on air (QVC pays her enough to take care of that) or to expect the camera operator to stop zooming in on her chipped nails. It's not like it's only happened a few times.
* expect the host or QVC to do something about all the times she rubs her nose and then touches things and people. Again, it's not like it's only happened a few times.
* expect a host to treat others with respect.
* want her or QVC to change the "e" to an "a" on her painting to correct the then/than error. Sure it's a common error, but they continued to display it in the background for months even though they knew it contained the error.
I think the way QVC held their ground on these and other things shows that they're the ones with the issues--not the viewers who pointed them out.
