Re: Why the change?

Yesterday, I thought I posted a response to this topic saying I'd certainly do what the majority "voted" on, but, I don't see where I actually hit the post button.  Has there been a resolution?

Doesn't seem like it. I posted my suggestion in message #18. Based on comments and hearted posts, it seems like many do not like the direction that the Pet Lovers thread has taken. I highy doubt, at this point, that the few who rule the roost want to acknowledge or agree to any resolutions. Hope they prove me wrong.

I think this is an offshoot of what has happened on the forum in general.

Fewer people post now for many reasons and that tends to make the ones that still do more prominent.

Good Morning everyone!

I have a suggestion that might be a good solution for all. To cut back on the numerous single thread memes and instead of just having one thread of memes, as that can become much too long, how about start a new pet meme thread at the start of every week for the photos.

A new pet meme thread can start on a Monday and run through Sunday. Then a new one can start again the next Monday and so on and so on.

The title in all caps can be placed above every picture in the weekly thread.

Hope this might be a compromise that will make everyone happy.

Thanks and have a lovely day.

I like your idea!

It seems we don't have as many posters, in general, plus we also have a shift in the types of threads here.

I think we all can agree that we share a deep affection for animals, "all God's creatures great and small," everyone posts with the good intent to share and interact with one another, the topic need not be acrimonious or polarizing, and perhaps there's a solution that would be an acceptable compromise for everyone?

@dooBdoo

Before you go off looking for a solution, perhaps it's good to verify that there's actually a problem.

I've noticed shifts in most of the QVC categories because message boards evolve as the participants change.  That's pretty common, and not what I'd call a "problem".

I see plenty of photos in the other categories to your left.  Whether it be fashions, homes, celebrities, recipes or just general interest discussions, there's more photos.  So what?

As for the Pet section, whenever there's an issue to be discussed, if the title of the thread is clear, there are plenty of participants.   That hasn't changed at all and, fortunately for us, there aren't serious pet issues every single day.

If you scrutinize the thread titles in every category, you'll see that some topics are serious and plenty are what might be called "frivolous".   Again ... so what?   Personally, I think a wide variety of topics adds to the participation.  There's room for everyone.

Not everything has to be a serious discussion.

JMO, of course.  Have a nice day.    Woman Happy

There is a problem when one poster monopolizes 2/3 to 3/4 of the posts on the Pet Forum's first page at all times.

Personally, I don't visit the Pet Forum often.

The multiple threads, in all caps, of different memes is an instant turn off for me.

I don't have much time to spend on the Q board these days and trying to sift through the threads to find a relevant pet discussion is difficult.

This topic has been discussed before and there have been no changes so I assume a majority of posters  are on board with how this forum goes.

Agree 100% other than your assumption that the majority of posters are on board with this.  I'm not and I don't think others are either.

If you dont care for how the forum is now then start posts telling us about your pets and any animal related stories.  At least some one is posting.

Didn't take long for the meme spamming to return. Shame the offenders didn't acknoweldge or take to heart any of suggestions (mine was in post #18) for a compromise. No surprise...
