Monday Morning Greetings
Wishing all of my dear Cyber Sisters a wonder-fur day and that it marks the beginning of a week that brings each of you much happiness, good health and lots of pawsome stuff!
Just like so many of you, I'm also dealing with these insane "weather issues". I hope that all of you, your families, and your precious furbabies, are getting through it safe and sound.

The weather has been brutal for us even our electric fireplaces have not kept us warm from the drafty cold that has crept in. Thank goodness for the 51 tomorrow. I am about done with winter. Our house is over 100 years old and even with all the changes we made in the house when it gets in to the deep freeze or a cold snap we suffer. We are going to have to rewire everything and that will happen in the spring this year. Anyone that says that climate control does not exist... is uninformed . Have a great day everyone! Meanwhile I will keep warm toasty thoughts.

The one good thing about a lot of snow on the ground, my Story (greyhound) is having a BALL running through the backyard! She is so cute - tail up and just running like a crazy dog. I just stand at the back door and laugh my a-- off. Just starts my day perfectly. Kinda scares Sedona with her big sister coming at her so fast, she makes a bee-line to the back door.

Good morning to all of you and your furbabies! I haven't been out in awhile, because of snow, ice and freezing temperatures. I feel like I've been hibernating. However, I'm planning to get out a bit today (maybe a movie, lunch and shopping).
Since I've been stuck inside for so long, it's given me a chance to fix some freezer meals, bake cookies, clean house, and work on my taxes.

Some people don't deserve to be pet owners - came home Saturday after being out with a friend all day and find a flyer in my mailbox regarding a missing dog - a little white fluffy dog. Later I was walking my dogs and noticed one of my neighbors driving around. She was looking for the dog (wasn't even her dog, the people were not out looking for their own dog!) She said the woman's husband had let the dog out to go to the bathroom in the morning (no fence) and FORGOT about the dog. Later when his wife came home and asked about the dog, he told her. Now mind you, the temps have been in the teens at night and yesterday we got 3 inches of snow. I haven't heard if they found the dog. Hopefully, someone finds the dog and KEEPS it - it hopefully finds a better home than where it was.

I have some questions regarding a new cat:
Do you feed a new cat the same brand of wet and dry cat food that she is used to (in this case, Friskies canned 2 times a day and Nutrisource cat and kitten dry, left out 24/7)? If you want to change out the wet and dry food, do you combine a bit of both, or do you start off with the new?
Do you use the same litter she is used to (in this case, Scoop Away clumping litter)? How do you go about changing the litter if you want to try a different brand?
I have arthritis, so I'd like to try a light-weight litter. I also don't have room for 40 pound bags of litter, but I could use litter in a smaller container that I could handle. What litter do you suggest I use (I've read that it's best to use an unscented litter, but I don't want odor). I plan to scoop the litter box 2 x day. I plan to start with an open litter box. I have an area where I can put the box that is pretty private.
Do you take your cat to the vet for deworming? How and when do you determine that your cat needs deworming? What product do you use? In the case of the cat I'm interested in, they use Anthelban, but only if the cat gets the runs. I understand they have fed her raw chicken (I won't be doing that). Could that cause the runs? Also, how do you clean her bottom if she does get the runs?
Do you recommend taking a new adult cat to the vet for a wellness check shortly after I get her home? I'm thinking it might be a good idea, so the vet will have her history. I'm supposed to get information on what shots she has had and when.
Sorry for all the questions, but I'll be a new cat mommy, and I want to do my best for her.

Happy Monday, dear PCC friends and furbabies!
I pray for warmth and saftey for anyone in the path of winter weather. Our "wintry mix' never materialized, which is good. My school system is out this week for our "winter break." I am glad for the rest. Woke up with a very bad headache, right above the back of my neck. Feel it might be sinus/allergy related but not sure.
I want to ask for prayers for one of my fellow teachers. Her 4 year old son just got out of the hospital after being diagnosed with Kawasaki's Syndrome. He went in last week with a high fever and dehydration. They have treated him and he is doing better and going home. They hope he doesn't have lasting side effects of this disease. I don't know much about it. It's "touch and go" here for a while but she and he husband have a very supportive and close family to rally around them.
Next prayer request is or a former student of mine. He is 12 now and is currently in a medically indused coma to help his lungs. He is at the same children's hospital that my co worker's son was out. Prayers for that medical staff, as well.
I am so grateful to have all of you as friends! May God bless the PCC ladies, furbabies and families represented here!
Much...love, hugs and prayers!

Happy (cccccold) Monday! I was just looking at some of my photos on the computer and came across our "baby girl." Now she's 3. I think we got her when she was 8 weeks old, but I can't even remember that she was this tiny. Taking photos is a GREAT idea, huh? (She's a Golden Retriever.)
