Kitty didn't much care...but my poodle would grab the end of the TP and drag it thru the house until the roll ran out, and if nobody was around...then he would chew it up, and spit it on the carpet.

My kitty did that one time.  She got what I call...a kitty cat lecture, and she never did it again.

Our cat didn't care about the tp either but my first granddog considered the small trashcan's his personal property. He loved the paper, I wonder what that is all about?

(just read it could be for a number of reasons).

Had a dog that shredded an 8-pack of TP one night when. I dared to go out and leave him alone.   Living room looked like Anchorage in January.
