Re: Re: Any Older Moms Out There-Update

Thank you guys for your congratulations and support!!

@ROCK_Chick-YES!! As long as I get to eat the whole thing! {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

@gilmoregirl- We were going to hold off, have it be a surprise at birth, but we did decide to look at the genetics report on Mother's Day. I had to see for myself the negative for the Trisomys and right below it was the gender report. However, I want to hold off to make sure it's correct. I'm hoping we get an anatomy scan at 20 weeks and if not we may just pay out of pocket for an outside company to do a 2D gender check (and to see more pics). I have read on other forums that sometimes the gender turns out to be wrong. I hope not since we already bought a few clothes.lol

Congratulations, my mother was 38 when she had me, 45 when my brother was born. I always loved the fact that she had so much life experience to share with us. She was a career person before she married . Good luck to your family. I didn't read your original post. How old is your first child and how does he / she feel about a sibling?

Re: Re: Any Older Moms Out There-Update

My heartfelt congratulations!! I also was an "older mom", 42 when my "baby" was born. I truly could not imagine my life without this blessing! He will be 23 next week and is the joy of my life!! My circumstance was unique, he was born 7 years after my previous child and AFTER my tubal ligation! It does happen, sometimes our choice is out of our control. Best wishes for an easy pregnancy and delivery, you will love this little person and know you made the right decision!!!!

My daughter is 17 weeks also. She will be 39 in September and is considered Advanced Maternal Age too. This is her third child. She has two boys and we found out she is having a girl when they did the genetic testing. Congratulations and i wish you all the best.

congrats to you! I hope it goes well. Our little one has added so much to our lives -- and to our entire extended family. We just took him (and our college age daughter) to Disney for the first time. Magic. Plus the tooth fairy and Santa Claus ride again! Smiley Happy
