Another year and would love some gift ideas for daughter in law. Age early 30's. If you are a daughter in law what would you like this year.

My in-laws are no longer living but I think personalized jewelry or inspirational book would be lovely.

First I would like for you to treat me like I am your son's wife and the most important woman in his life. I would like for you to treat me like I will be an important in the happiness and success of your son't family and your own family. Treat me like me I have a place in the family.

Second, I'd like for you to like the gift we/I give you.

Third, I'd like a small gift--something you know I would love and a gift card and your sincere and happy wish for me to get something I want for myself. I would hate for you to get me a gift to try to "fix" me or spiff me up or decorate my house to your taste. The best gift would be your acceptance. Even if you have to fake it for the day. It would be a gift to your son too.

ask your son what she likes....

nothing personalized if she doesn't like it, it is a waste of money (unless the person has been wanting such a gift)

Probably depends on her style. My DIL loves Kate Spade so a handbag is always good, also a wallet. She's also a Macy's fan so a gift card (which I call the "gift of shopping) is always a hit.

I always found that gift to be the hardest to buy and usually spent the most on her gift to make her feel special.I have bought things that she couldn't afford..expensive handbags a watch,jewelry and clothing.I think she liked her gifts because she always used them but I spent days trying to find just the right thing.

I always give my DIL (and son) a check or cash because I feel that's the gift they'll appreciate most. Last year I also gave my DIL a pillow that said "World's Greatest Daughter In Law" (because she is)!
