I did a post probably in December that had an address for a concern that accepted used jewelry. I sent several pieces and found the postage to Washington state too expensive. You could find the address if interested searching my posting user " name " or maybe topic " donating used jewelry. "
If I were to donate some of my longer necklaces in the future, I would go the consignment route as the necklaces have substantial weight.

@crazycockermom There is an organization that takes unwanted costume jewelry. It is called I Have Wings. They refurbish the items and sell to fund their breast cancer programs. Just do a google search and it should come up. You just package the items and send them to the organization.
I have a lot of costume jewelry and am planning on doing this. At least it will be going to a good cause.

In my small city, we have an Active Adult Center. The center focuses on social activities for those retirement age and older. They ask for donations of costume jewelry, scarves, purses, wallets, etc. once a year for their yard sale. All the sales goes towards the center. Perhaps there is something similar close to you.

Our local shelter for battered women has two stores that sell donated clothing. I'm going to donate mine there.........and take a tax write off as it's a 401C(3) organization. The allowance for jewelry is $3-$6 per item.
Ha.....I did a search on a necklace and realized I was donating one that was worth a bit more money.......so I pulled it out, then I decided to pull out a pair of earrings......slippery slope.

Any CHARITY thrift store (non-profit) will be glad to take your items...and you will get a receipt for "donations" to use on your income tax. (I take my stuff to the Arizona Humane Society Thrift Store.)

I have donated to them and they promptly acknowledge.

@crazycockermom I am puzzled by your query about whether anyone looks at this forum anymore. What made you raise that question? I think thousands of people look at it daily.
