Hi csilady, I'm in North Jersey, too. Smile If you're a Costco member they sell the Vitamix 5200 (64 oz. container) in the kitchen section. I think it's $395, but if you don't like it you can return it. I bought mine at Costco a few years ago while it was on demo. At the time, the 5200 was the newest machine. This was pre-QVC. I always DVR the QVC Vitamix TSV days to get some new ideas.

That's a good idea but I am not a member. Thanks anyway though.

Where in north jersey? I am in vernon close to action park/mountain creek.

I'm more Northeastern. My best friend grew up in the Vernon area. Action Park was just on Good Day NY this morning. Are they calling it Action Park again? I've only been to Mountain Creek once for snow tubing and never did Action Park growing up, but it looked fun on TV today.

I wish you were a member at Costco, I was there earlier and the 5200 is on sale for $350 until Sunday. I thought that was a great deal. I hope you'll find something you love, whether it's a Vitamix or something else. Enjoy this lovely weather weekend in NJ. Smile

If that is the price, I'd jump on it. It is $449. here until the 11th. (AZ)

I got it also Sherbear1! Thank you. I was looking at the other ones they offer and comparing them. Do you think the tsv one is the better one of all they offer?

Thanks

csilady, I would get the tsv. You need a variable speed. I have a 64 oz and it doesnt fit under the counter unless the lid is off. So the 48 oz would be great. Good price I paid 360 and mine is refurbished from vitamix. Let me know what you decide.

I've been looking at the dry container too. Can you do in the wet container what you can do in the dry one. I wanted to make dough for pizza and yes I know to get the variable from the last tsv . I heard people commenting on only having two speeds. Was going to get that tsv but decided not to because of that.

To a degree you can used the wet for dry ingredients but not vice versa. But the dry has a different blade and does a better job grinding dry grains, nuts, etc. The dry container would probably do a nicer job making the dough but the wet will probably do it as well.

Just to add, get a variable speed...there is no way the 2-speed gives the same control. I love my 7500.

Okay, decision made. I will get the tsv and try to do the dough, etc and if not good enough I can always purchase the dry container on its own. Thanks for the help! I'm excited to get it!
