really disappointed seeing Smithfield being sold on QVC.  Worst farm factory! her

Billions of animals suffer nightmarish conditions for their entire short, painful lives at the concentrated animal feeding operations — or CAFOs — that supply more than 85% of the United States’ meat.

Mama pigs are kept cruelly confined to gestation crates barely big enough for them to move. Growing calves endure agonizing de-budding, mutilations involving red-hot irons seared to their skin. Chickens have their beaks routinely sliced off to prevent them from pecking at each other from the stress.

@shopped out    If you're going to spread vicious gossip about a large company, you could at least spell their name correctly.  You also need to cite the source of your allegations.  I remember a scandal about conditions for animals there years ago which was reported to have be rectified.  There's been nothing since and the only thing I could find about current conditions at Smithfield concerned working conditions during covid last year, the same complaints all the other meat packing plants reported.
